re: Gregg Popovich - "People have to be made to feel uncomfortable"

I don't have any problem having the conversation he says we need to have. The problem lies with the other side that doesn't want to do any self-examination and simply wants to place the blame on me and people who have my color skin.
Guess what. I haven't held back a damn soul, regardless of color or whatever. Am I the one impregnating black women and then leaving them to raise kids by themselves? Am I the one glorifying drug/thug culture through my music? Am I the one teaching my kids that they can only learn from people who share my skin color and cultural experiences?
Back in the days of the real civil rights struggle, black people wanted what white people had and weren't afraid to work for it. Now, far too many in that community want it handed to them.
Instead of trying to learn how to succeed in this country they want to do things their way and then cry 'racism' when their culture holds them back.
The formula is simple, and it works for everyone who tries it. Go to school, pay attention and learn. Find out what you're good at and apply yourself. Don't have babies unless you are prepared to take care of them. That goes for men as well as women. Of course, there is the golden rule: do unto others what you would have them do unto you.
It really is that simple.

They don't want a conversation. They want to preach, scream and blame

Exactly. Progressives don't want to have a conversation. They want anyone who disagrees with them to shut the frick up while they lecture about what a horrible racist misogynist bigot you are.

This... they want you to bend to their every whim, desire and demand. And if you don't, better watch out.

I was kinda on board until this sentence.
This is what I hate about these debates. It always ends up with white people having to "give something away" rather than focusing on the actual issues that are the pitfalls of society.

Correct. According to ivory tower elitists like Pop, white people are standing in the way of success of others.
Ithats one of the more ridiculous concepts of their movement.

Well, the issue I have is that they demand that we lower the bar so everyone is equal. 75% of black children are born out of wedlock and live in one parent households? Ok, we'll make that acceptable and celebrated. 50% of violent crime is committed by black males? We'll blame it on white privilege. Inner city communities don't value education and drop out of high school in large numbers? Obviously the school's fault and they need more money.
There's never a solution where success standards are maintained and that's the dangerous part of this ridiculous ideology.

It's all about starting a conversation at this stage. And it's a conversation people are actively trying to avoid.

Yeah that's not a side I want to be on in any argument. Good job.

No one is suggesting you physically give something away. It's a metaphor for culture change. Giving away your position on top of the social ladder in this country to create more equality.

So please tell me how I "give up" my position on top of the social ladder in this country.

It's not something that any one person can do and it's not something that happens over night. Again, culture change.

No one on EITHER side wants to have an actual conversation. People just say they do, but then it just goes back to the same old attacks and nothing comes of it.

Perfect summary of the liberal mind:
"I have the right to never be offended, but you must be made to feel uncomfortable."

End Affirmative Action and I'll get on board.

I hate to tell you chief, there is no white culture and the culture that needs changing exists in the ghetto

I'm all for it. Affirmative Action was put in place because of this problem. If the problem is solved, then no one could possibly make an argument for it. I personally think AA is a racist policy that leads to people getting picked for things that they might not deserve.
