Govt incompetence- Scottie Scheffler court motion to move arraignment date

If you can bear it, watch this 15 minute video of the prosecutor fumbling trying to prevent a motion by Scottie’s lawyer to simply move the date back. How is this dude a lawyer…
Note to self- if I ever want to commit a crime, do so in Louisville….

You are looking at the difference btwn a government and a private atty.
Government atty - completely wrong on a legal issue, but sticking to it out of hubris bc nothing bad happens as a result. Also so bad that he’s unhirable by someone who needs a lawyer. Tells everyone how busy he is but he gets to leave work at 5:00 and can’t get fired or sued for malpractice
Private lawyer- actually has a schedule, a client and knows how to pick his battles

And I will beat this dead horse… Judge Trudy White of the 19th JDC was too incompetent for government work yet got elected to the bench.

I could never be a judge. As soon as I had people in front of me whose outward appearance gave me cause for alarm in personal harm, restraint and responsibility, color me prejudicial.

Holy shite, the prosecutors appear to be even more incompetent than the arresting officer. I doubt it will, but I really hope this goes to trial....Romines is going to eviscerate these clowns.

That was hard to watch. I think he had something big planned for the arraignment, press conference or something, something he really was banking on, for that particular date.

JFC if that’s who represents the “commonwealth” I feel really bad for the commonwealth

In MS, nearly every person indicted on a felony waives arraignment via a single piece of paper with their attorney. Crazy to me that they actually require in person arraignments.

Thst was embarrassing.. that buffoon is going to get eaten alive by a competent lawyer…what a snarky bitch at the end after the defense attorney asked to be excused…

After seeing videos of the actual event and given what the charges were, the officer needs to be arrested for lying under oath.

This will be a massacre, if I was Scheff I would shiw up with Buzzbee as co-counsel

Ask yourself - WTF is that old lawyer doing basically traffic court
And why - even with the limited knowledge, would you want your name anywhere near this case?

Jefferson Co KY is on the Shelby Co TN, Fulton Co Ga, and Orleans Parish level of incompetence

holy
fricking
shite
I would wager 100 SFP bucks that, for some reason, the DAs office doesn't want to seem like they're bending over backward for a celebrity. However, they're doing it in literally the most idiotic and wasteful way possible.
