Governor Cuomo just told the media to forget the politics.

Plus he’s not running for president and thanked Trump.

That’s exactly what I would say if I were him and wanted to be president or VP at the first opportunity.

He's laying the groundwork for a 2024 run. He doesn't want a dim winning in 2020.

I see hes adhering to the Beto method of lying.

Beto definitely had no intention of running for president when he ran for Senate and refused to donate a chunk of his funds to other dem candidates in the state. He was all about the senate.

He will be smart and wait until 2024.

He is fully immersed in dealing with this crisis as he should be. He would look like a craven opportunist to abandon his post at a time of a statewide emergency to run for POTUS.

The economy is going to be bad for the next couple of years much better to let someone else suffer that pain then come back in four years when this has passed.

Amazing that people think he has time to think about BS politics at this time. But I guess that is where we are

I think Mike Huckabee said there’s no way Cuomo has time to worry about running for president.

I was more impressed with him telling the media to cool it with the politics.

He can't be the VP candidate. Joe promised us a chick.

How long before the media calls him a racist and compares him to Hitler?

Given the crop of losers, freaks, and geriatrics that Dems put up in 2020, I'd declare him the early Dem frontrunner for 2024.

I have been impressed with his handling of this and his words around not making this political.

Definitely going to be governor for a 4th term and then run in 2024. Either Trump wins or Biden is 83

I think that's increasingly irrelevant. The Dem nominee gets to make the VP pick. I think it is increasingly likely they will have to do a mini-25th Amendment at the convention (if not earlier) to replace Joe on legitimate, "He's not medically fit for the general election" grounds.

And the DNC isn't letting Bernie back in now that they're rid of him for good.

Maybe Warren takes one for the team (a bone to progressives, but "not" Bernie, still safely bought and paid for)? Or HRC since she "beat him once, already"?

That will be our Summer entertainment in lieu of the Olympics - the figurative bloodbath in Wisconsin.

He doesn't want to lose that great looking medical ship. Bet he's told Schumer to shut the hell up as well.

They won't replace Joe at the convention. Bernie bros would actually vote for Trump (and may still), just to cast Joe aside, and they don't like Cuomo either. They want a socialist and they're not going to wait potentially 8 years to run another one.

Considering their other options he doesn't have to run for the Democratic Party to nominate him. Hell, half the time Biden thinks he's not running for president either.

He doesn't but he has consultants, advisers, and people connected with various think tanks on his cell phone contacts that do.

Coronavirus might just be a dress rehearsal for what hospitals in Milwaukee face later on this summer. I'm sure Bernie supporter will take being stiff armed in the face by someone who didn't even run in the primary very calmly and maturely.
