Senate has not scheduled a vote and Rand is threatening to delay any House vote until after midnight. The government will once again be in partial shutdown status at midnight, if nothing is passed. The Senate seems solid but these delays may indicate otherwise. The House is shaky as both Ds & Rs oppose portions of the Senate deal.

ETA: To clarify, the Senate can't vote until 1:00 am unless all agree to an earlier vote. Rand is currently opposing an earlier vote to pass this to the House. This delays any House vote and the House has to pass this before it can go to the President.

when they pass all these CRs are they reverting back to a budget from like the 90s, or is it a separate thing that just funds whatever?

I think this caught the media of guard this time. Pretty sure everybody though it was going to pass easy, especially after the bipartisan deal was released.

CRs are based on prior year funding.

I think this is the case. The more that comes out about the bipartisan deal the more people are pushing back. I think that was expected from the Freedom Caucus but some of the other opposition that has sprung up today seems unexpected.

Most of them. I don't mean that to sound derisive, just that they go with the whole safety and security logic, so plenty folks won't qualify for that.

It’s another government holiday in sense to some. They’ll still get paid. No big deal.

My question is, if it goes to Midnight, but they vote and pass it at 1 AM, does the government still shutdown Friday?

That would be some stupid shite.

Absolutely true

Thank God my office was created by a Federal law in the late 1970s-early 1980s and nobody is willing to touch it again.

Only exist in Alaska too.
