If you’re a government employee that loses your job, just remember the democrats care more about getting illegals healthcare than you.

And then screw them for upholding it after Congress removed the tax, thus removing the only so-called constitutional basis for upholding it in the first place.

why is the affordable care act even an issue?
Didn’t Trump replace it years ago Ike he promised he would?

accepting it? He basically "rewrote" the bill to "make" it a tax.

currently its an issue because your guy passed increased subsidies during covid that you now want to become permanent just like every other fedgov "temporary" spending thing.

Why the ACA has blown up insurance costs for everyone is a separate topic

The Dems would never be this petty.

You know, they wouldn't deliberately do things like close a highway because people driving on it may catch a glimpse of Mt Rushmore or something like that.

Dems are for The People!

Just for the record, about 55% of federal employees are working during the shutdown and 45% are furloughed.

Incorrect. About 23% are being furloughed while 77% will continue working.

Furloughs should not receive backpay, imo.

Schumer losing his job to AOC is one of the reasons for the shut down. It's not about what's best for government but how do these slimy politicians survive for another day of theft by being an office holder.

Didn’t your guy replace it several years ago like he said he was going to do? If not, why? He still has the chance now.

Because he operates under the powers granted him by the Constitution. I know that's a foreign concept to your kind

You need 60 + votes and democrats would not vote to keep it open so there is that civics lesson to remember

What’s the hold up now? All that is needed is a simple majority. Or has he abandoned his promise?
