3 components to the bill:

quote:

1. Raises the minimum age to buy rifles from 18 to 21

2. Extends a three-day waiting period for handgun purchases to include long guns and bans bump stocks that allow guns to mimic fully automatic fire.

3. Creates a so-called "guardian" program that enables teachers and other school employees to carry handguns.

I realize it's not a popular opinion on this board, but I like all three ideas. Good bill IMO.

#3 is the only one that has any chance of saving a child's life.

Compromises that addresses concerns on both sides. I like to see that. If there's a Constitutional violation re: age discrimination, it can be addressed through the courts.

3 is good. 1 and 2 are just feel good moves that won't actually do anything

As long as people also realize that it could accidentally take one as well.

And #1 will probably get ruled invalid.

So an entire segment of law abiding adults loses some freedom, and we are happy about it?

Parents have guns...what stops the kid or someone under the age of 21 from just using one of them. 21 years of age is just stupid. Shouldn't punish law abiding citizens.

how many mass shootings would #1 have stopped nationwide? Most of the dudes are already over 21 or stole the guns from their parents.

This one and Columbine? Where did those losers get theirs?

Just seems like it’s not very useful

This may have cost him his senate campaign.

Democrats were not going to vote for him and it pisses off the NRA and 2nd amendment voters.

They might see him as no better than democrats on the 2nd amendment.

His best chance is the hate for Pelosi and Schumer.

Only number 3 is a good idea.

1 and 2 will only lead to more laws and infringe on the 2nd.

That's what you people want anyway.

Yea, I didn’t buy my guns as a kid. They were presents.
