Don't visit MD just yet, indoor mask requirements still in place. This RINO is still leaving it up to individual counties to decide what they want to do. He DOES have presidential aspirations!

LINK

"President Biden set the goal of trying to get things back to normal by the 4th of July," Hogan said. "Here in Maryland, our plan is to get everything back to normal by Memorial Day."

The absolute horror of allowing policy to be determined at the local level.

Why is that bad, exactly?

Because the progressive cities all favor the most restrictive policies possible

Yes, and that would be their prerogative.

Washington is being shitebags about the whole thing and have been since Day 1. Their reopening thresholds are so freaking low and the people there in the blue bastion of the Puget Sound area so afraid of their own shadows that they may never come out. I'm guessing Washington doesn't reopen fully until at least end of the summer.

As an aside, their schools have now been closed to in person instruction for 14 months and counting now.

Local mask mandates and restaurant closings require citizens and business to perform affirmative acts to comply with the law. State laws that remove these restrictions prohibit neither an individual nor a business from wearing masks or restricting capacity.

I hope Hawaii completely destroys themselves beyond repair and they all suffer immensely

And?

It would seem that state orders removing local restrictions is a net win for liberty, since those who want the restrictions can voluntarily abide by them.

I do not disagree with that. But I also generally believe that public policy should be made at the lowest possible level.

Anyone with an ounce of sense understands that this policy is crafted toward appeasing Baltimore County and the DC suburbs while allowing the rest of the state to return to normal. If the population of Baltimore wants continued government mandated bullshite, let them have it. Everyone gets what they want.

I would feel safer if the government determined my level of risk and safety. They are scientists.

Complete nonsense.

"plan is to get everything back to normal by (insert holiday)." You can get "every thing back to normal" RIGHT THIS frickING SECOND! Just do so. What in the hell is going to change between today and two weeks? Two months?

God as my witness, I didn't know any state was still doing any of this stuff or that any were enforcing it.

The bubble I live in had most shite closed down for like 2 weeks tops a year ago. Minus store mask mandates, everything else has been normal ever since.

Ever since Inslee showed a double standard to King County (Seattle) vs. Pierce County (Tacoma, JBLM) the Pierce County democrats now want a special session to revoke his emergency powers.
