Youre trying to reason with people who dont understand basic principles of science. Some others are being willfully ignorant because big corporate interests, that pump tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, dont find that truth convenient to their industry.

According to the below, other scientists have come out dismissing Gore and Mann over this, saying there's no proof at all of a link between AGW and this cold spat, calling it "witchcraft" and "climate ambulance chasing," and taking Occam's Razor to it all in that there are other verifiable explanations for this year's severe cold. I'm personally partial to this quote:

Specfic details are usually a 'what if' kind of thing. Pointing out global warming itself, is not specific. It's an overall look or a more holistic approach to studying the environment. I'm going to go with the overwhelmingly high percentage of scientists over some Yahoo's on a message board

No, they come out with threats of catastrophe in an attempt to wring out as much funding as possible and to assist their partners in government with passage of new revenue streams to grow their control and power. A poster above quoted at least one honest scientist who is ashamed at the foolishness and drama pumped out about his field of research. Read it.
