When's that supposed to happen?

Google said it would follow the Trump administration in renaming the Gulf of Mexico once the new name is updated in government sources.

Probably. But MAGA as I am, renaming stuff seems a bit silly.

They tried to assassinate the guy. And now he won the POTUS seat.

If he wants to call it the Pussified Waters of Merchan... I dont care. Let him do it.

If you can’t get behind this, you are NOT MAGA. Plain and simple.

I heartily disagree.

If for no other reason than what it communicates to the rest of the world.

Basically ever since the Soviet Union fell, the US has acted like a staked elephant. You know how they stake the elephant by chaining their foot to a wooden stake driven into the ground when they are babies?

The baby elephant gets used to being chained, so by the time he grows up the trainers can still control him by chaining his leg to a stake that he could easily pull up...but he doesn't. He still thinks he's tied up tight like when he was a baby.

That's what we've acted like as a country. We need to throw our weight around and impose our will just because we can, because it sends the message that we are just waiting for an opportunity to do so for real.

I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand that the international stage follows our lead. If we project weakness, reluctance to intervene, and hesitancy, as we have done for umpteen years (and as conservatives now want us to adopt as a permanent policy as well), then we basically create situations in which we have to intervene, because the world's Bad Actors are going to take what we give them.

If we project strength (and maybe just a touch of unpredictability as well), we don't have to intervene, because everyone behaves.

Trump gets this, and that's why he will never be the isolationist wussy that Huckster Carlson has taught the populists on the right they should want in the WH. It's also why no one stepped out of line when he was POTUS the last time.

Lose your rep, you lose respect. Lose respect and you got to kill some bitches to get it back. That's where we are.

It’s easier to drill for oil in the gulf of America than the Gulf of Mexico!
