Yeah, if you totally revise the meaning of populism.

You’re joking right. Fighting for the “common man” against the elite? Massie actually did a good thing here. Your lack of capacity to distinguish between when “populism” is good or bad makes you look foolish here. Not that you’re bright enough to get that.

It’s okay when he says it but when someone else says it it’s not.

If you understood the political spectrum, this question would never have been asked.

Populism is a political approach that divides society into two antagonistic camps—"the pure people" versus "the corrupt elite"—and claims to represent the general will of ordinary people. It is considered a "thin-centered ideology" that often highlights a moral struggle against established institutions

His whole message this term has been that Trump and his administration are pedo protector. His campaign donations are from regular people, according to him, who are donating $97. He has threatened to impeach members of this administration. He continues to try and divide his own party, while appealing to the masses. This is all done simply to stay in office longer so he can continue to be the savior who calls it out. His words in this exact interview with Tucker.

you’re so simple. I know you won’t believe me. So believe AI.

Representative Thomas Massie’s sustained push to release the Jeffrey Epstein files and his rhetoric surrounding them is a clear example of modern populism. His approach highlights a common anti-elitist narrative that pits "the people" against a "corrupt, unaccountable elite," a core tenant of populist ideology.

You dumb idiot.

That has nothing in this world to do with populism.

He/s a libertarian leaning constitutionalist, 180 degrees from a populist.

Yeah you can’t refute the entire post. You also likely didn’t watch the interview that this very thread is about.

Was a good interview. Of course Miriam Adelson is a huge donor to Massie’s opponent.

I can play that cheap game too.

quote:

Thomas Massie is generally not considered a populist; he is a libertarian-leaning constitutional conservative who prioritizes principle over party loyalty or mass appeal.

quote:

He has opposed major spending bills, foreign aid packages, and executive overreach, even when these positions put him at odds with the MAGA base. While populists often leverage personal charisma and direct appeals to voters to challenge elites, Massie relies on constitutional arguments, transparency, and small-donor grassroots support rather than populist messaging. His campaigns emphasize fiscal responsibility, local constituent service, and adherence to law, rather than broad anti-establishment rhetoric.

quote:

Yes — Donald Trump is widely described as a populist, though scholars debate the exact label. The strongest consensus in recent research is that he fits within authoritarian populism, a subtype that blends populist rhetoric with strongman tendencies.

Name one thing Massie has done to lower the debt in 14 years as a member of Congress that controls the purse.

according to your profile you live in baton rouge why would you care about anything thomas massie does? you can't vote for him, you don't live in his district.

Didn’t a foreign lobby pump like $20 million into his opponent’s campaign?

Why do they care so much?

Except we were specifically referring to Massie calling Trump a Pedo protector. Textbook Populism. It’s ok to admit you’re wrong every once in a while.
