Rs have their share of screw ups, but this R would never support a Republican that pushed through the highest tax increase in La. history, and who pushed through Medicare Expansion at a time when the Feds were in a state of flux.
And I for one believed Jindal was an absentee governor, and spoke out about it. If a Republican was headed to Italy at a time when we have many flood victims begging for state and federal help, we have a huge budget problem, and we're approaching a budget cliff that Edwards help make, etc. I'd be upset too.
Human trafficking is a horrendous problem, but I doubt seriously if having Edwards, Alario and Edmonston going to visit the Pope is going to make any difference. If they want to crush the scum that is involved, I'd bet the best bet is to work with the Feds to control the border (thxs Obama) and to work with them to stop trafficking across state lines. What's the Pope going to know that the Feds don't know?

I agree on all these points. The tax hikes needed to happen. Jindal left this great state in shambles. I'm fine with Medicare expansion if money is allocated correctly. Assuming you live here, you witness the poverty everyday like the rest of the residence. Jindal did not help at all getting people these jobs, instead he cut state funded job and hired out of state companies to bring in their on people.

Jindal acted as much of a good ole baw like JBE while being a republican and people still hated him including me.
JBE is a clueless country hick that has no idea what the hell he's doing as governor other than sticking to status quo leftist ideology and rewarding his buddies with jobs and fat contracts.

Ran into a buddy from BR in the airport in Charlotte. He was coming back from a "human trafficking" conference that his church paid for him to go to. He had bags from Gucci, Versace, Ferragamo.. showed me pictures of the Vatican, the statues, the fountains.. No mention of the Human Trafficking conference.. Not one word.

Man that's pretty critical, he did manage to muddle through West Point and get a law degree at LSU.
So what are your academic credentials and what do you do for a living? Whining on the internet is not an acceptable answer

So you believe the state should raise taxes and still subsidize the film industry to a tune of 180 million per year? Do you believe we should have raised taxes to keep the status quo and keep the generous tax credits to businesses, and to keep the local pork rolling and TOPS as it currently stands?
And last I looked we still have a huge poverty problem, but now we have more Federal help but we still have our state supported health system too.
And while it's true Jindal did a bad job with controlling spending, he managed to get by without a billion dollar tax increase with more coming.
But hey things must be on cruise control now, Andy it's time to concentrate on humaning trafficking.

On its face this sounds good. Not sure what insight the Pope has on Louisiana human trafficking though
