wagu TriTip for around $19.99lb year round
That's got to be American wagyu, right? I'm not familiar w/ tri tip. The only wagyu I've had was an A5 striploin when we were in Japan. Very good steak. But over here, at 3x the price of a high quality NY Strip, I don't get the interest.

Yes I assume it’s not Japanese. It’s in the open meat cooler with everything else. TriTip is one of my favorites and they are usually around 2-3lbs so it’s perfect for a family of 4. Takes about 23min on the hot grill which gives you a great crust. I carve off the fat cap and sizzle it up to render some oil to coat the baked potatoes and give the rest to the dog. Everyone is happy!
The angus tri is great too but the wagu has that little extra fat content along with an overall better flavor that makes it a value.

That's what I see. Maybe you see it differently. No need to get bent over it.

What, are they going to steal them or something?

They generally buy the cheaper cuts, because food stamps are limited. See.

Food stamp buyers aren't going to buy the higher cuts of meat. You should be able to get Ribeye, NY strip or T-bone any time.

It's amazing how many people don't understand the rampant fraud being perpetrated through the food stamp program.

I was wondering who could afford ribeyes after they jumped up in price about 50% over the past year....

Always are. You just need to move out of the ghetto where the EBT users live.

Good. Did you have to compete with the EBT crowd?

Nice. Sounds GreenEgg-able.

For steaks I do the Ruth's Chris thing. Olive Oil (my preference over butter) SeaSalt/GroundPepper rub. Seared 1 1/2 mins per side at 900-1000°F. on the grill. 4 min off direct heat at ~400° for M/R on a 2" cut. Gets a really good result.

As long as Jameis Winston stays away from your supermarket. Fortunately now, he will be buying them with his NFL and Broadcast money instead of allegedly stealing them in his college preNIL days.

Food stamps should be regulated on what you can buy with them.....are they?

They are, that’s why this whole thread is pointless.

Yep, beef prices in our area, while not low, are definitely manageable. Over all I'm seeing a sharp drop in the cost of groceries - and since I drink a lot of milk that's the item I've watched carefully. With a gallon of milk going for anywhere from $ 3.18/gallon to $ 3.49/gallon. Down from a high of $ 4.02/gallon. Ouch.

Gasoline has taken the sharpest drop of all with a gallon of gasoline going for as low as $ 2.29/gal. Last week, I was delighted to pay $ 1.89/gal for gasoline (with my store discount). I recall that was what I paid for a gallon during President Trump's first term, just before they stole the 2020 Election from him and us.

Kudo's to President Trump for stopping Bidenflation dead in its tracks. Lord only knows what we'd be paying for beef and milk if that buffoon's policies had remained in effect. But we can be assured those crooks are scheming to screw us again. Everything the democrats do is an unmitigated disaster. This is NOT the party of the working man anymore.

And with that good news I happily proclaim.........

President Trump is right about............everything.

It is less often, but they still do 5.99 bone in ribeyes on the reg. Probably about once a month
