This is true. We have 365 million people in the country now. In the 1950's you had one car families. Today everybody has a parking lot full of vehicles rich, poor, middle class.
Times have changed.

tell that to tourists from up north that pay to stay on the beach, have a few tall beers and their lives can be ruined from set up DUI's designed to make money.
tell that to tourists on Wrightsville Beach pulled over by a golf cart/bicycle cop and fined $350 for having a lit cigarette or any alcoholic beverages in a cooler or at all. If you have a few glasses of wine in you, your life could be over.
tell that to the marine patrol that pull over your boat (they don't know if you are rich or poor) board your boat and search for alcohol. (no not me, none of these things are me but this time-- I watched it while I was sitting in the sound side of an island in a chair in the water. the people were not crazy drunk or swerving.
I am all for drunk drivers being arrested my best friend was killed by one. but they have gone off the deep end.

Driving impaired is a law I happen to strongly agree with
I completely agree. I lost three friends in three SEPARATE car accidents in a 48 hour period the weekend after I graduated high school. All three accidents involved a drunk driver. In one, my buddy was driving drunk and plowed into a front end loader at a construction site one mile from the Flora-Bama bar. In the second, my buddy was hit head on by a drunk driver. In the third, my buddy was a passenger in a car driven by another friend who was drunk. The driver went around a curve too fast causing the car to roll over. My buddy that died was thrown from the car before it rolled over on him.
I hate drunk driving.

Your point on. If you just say ok I ran a stop sign and take your ticket it's all gravy. These dumbasses wanna scream back at cops and fight back. I think black people make it worse when they do this crap and get worse punishment. Cops should have tazzed them from the time they all bumrushed. With their phone trying to be the next victim on tape. This post was edited on 6/13 at 1:11 pm
I’m sure this is what cops deal with on the daily. Playing victim when they totally instigate the entire situation. Cop told them to get on the ground 100 times, and they throwing their hands up but trying to body the cop while he’s trying to make an arrest.
Have to love how one of them told the police that this is the reason the world is the way it is today. No mofo it’s this way because of jackasses like you.

There’s no excuse for it. And I get what you’re saying. I don’t have all the answers for every situation. And maybe there is some truth to what you’re saying about road blocks, etc. Maybe we should be more reactive than proactive on it.
But that does not apply to this case. Driver was clearly driving recklessly. Gets pulled over. Had people in visible danger. No excuses. Comply and take your deserved consequences.

I somewhat understand where you are coming from, but strongly disagree...I was even stupid enough to get a DUI in Defuniak Springs headed down to Panama City Beach from Auburn three years later. My Dad's first words to me were "You didn't learn a damn thing from Milton, Timmy and Jud did you?"

I don't care how many people this offends on this board. I believe Blacks are instructed to do this. I never, ever saw this much disrespect growing up when addressing the police.
There's no question; they were all doing the exact same thing and you see it all over the US. But it's just part of the black culture, not all. It looks like it's a majority, sadly, but it's not all black people.

White people golf cart smooth transaction. Then Black people cart not so smooth. Only one thing happened different. Black people had drugs and got caught.

We are lost as a country. fox 8 news story Jesus Christ. Trying to do a job. They freaking deserved to be arrested.
I can promise you, if white people would have done this, the charges would not have been dropped. It’s a world of black privilege now. Only black cops will be able to arrest black people or they will cry racism. And it’s only going to get worse. I almost hope we just disband all police and go back to Wild West days and everyone packs heat.

Who would want to live in a place like that?

I honestly thought the officers showed great restraint. What a bunch of fricking punks those kids were. This is how situations go sideways. In what universe do they think it’s a good idea or ok to rush police officers? And then of course all of them are like “duh, what’d i do?”
Hands up while rushing and refusing to obey and video taping more evidence to incriminate themselves lol.

Golf carts in retirement communities and near the beach are usually very lax. Was the OP in a big city area or what? Seeing golf cart cops freaked me out.

This is a vacation spot called put-in-bay in OH.
They likely rented the golf cart and didn’t follow the rental agreement by loading it up with more butts than seat belts.

But the two officers are resigning? What in the frick?
Probably tired of the standards. Will find a job where they’re better appreciated.
That was tough to watch, and what I mean is dealing with that type of behavior routinely would be wearing. Compound that with not having the support of your superiors, local government, and community would be miserable. This is coming from someone who has been treated poorly at most police encounters for the most asinine things.
It is however a great example of a night and day difference of how things can escalate, but they both started the same independent of race.

How do the cops know it's micro aggression. Stfu, if you don't want to be shot or tazzed then you take your ticket and move on. If you think he is wrong go to court and fight it. Hell half the times I got a ticket I think it's unjust but I took it and paid it. You know why, because I know if I acted like they were that cop could put a cap in my arse. Mf's need to quit being so stupid.

White people get pulled over for too many people on a golf cart = a quick ticket
Black people get pulled over for too many people on a golf cart = 25 minutes of denying they did anything wrong and doing the opposite of whatever the cops say

Charges against everyone arrested have been dropped. One of the women was suspected of drug possession, but according to the mayor, no drugs were found at the scene at the time of the incident.
Apparently arresting black folks now is illegal.

Dude could have taken his traffic citation and gone about his business
But instead we got to deal with a bunch of crazy people.
