So, how do you feel about this ?

On the one hand I guess the 5 million that they paid for the Gold Card will be more than most people pay in taxes in a lifetime.
You are going to have wealthy people that earn all of their money abroad and will never pay an income tax to the USA the rest of their lives.
These people will be bidding on Real Estate in the USA against natural born citizens who are paying Federal Income Taxes every year.

Kind of have mixed feelings about this.
But like I said, I guess the one time 5 Million Dollar Gold Card Tax is more than most USA citizens will pay in their lives.

They’ll have payroll tax for the minimum of 5 jobs they have to create.

Dude, these people aren’t going to be buying million dollar houses; they are going to be buying $10 million houses. They won’t be competing with you, and the ones they are competing with don’t care.

Thanks to Obama the Chichester, I now have to pay taxes annually on foreign holdings and tangibles I have stored in bank safes.

But Pablo and his drunken donkey don't pay shite.

The point is that they will live in the USA and never pay a dime in income tax.
Like I said, I have mixed emotions.
On one hand the 5 million one time tax is more than most people will pay in their lifetime.
On the other hand once they pay their 5 million Gold Card Fee they will be living here tax free ( since the people doing this are people earning all of their income overseas)

But there are plenty of Americans that DO/WILL pay that much or more in taxes over a lifetime and they are screwed with international income. Why should these new assholes get an exemption?

Not to mention it's overwhelmingly likely to be Chinamen.

That's not how this works.

Yeah, I agree.
I'm sure people will argue that if not for the tax break the Gold Card people wouldn't come here and that we wouldn't get their 5 Million.
But on the other hand natural born USA citizens that have to pay taxes on all of their income have to be saying "wtf?"

On foreign income. They most certainly WILL have to pay on American-earned income.

Anyone expecting this to generate a lot of debt-retiring monies is blinkered. Selling 200K of these would be a big win - that would be $1 Trillion. Sounds like a lot, but just a drop in the bucket in reality..

Do you think they would come here if they had to start paying income tax on the profits they are already making on businesses they established prior to moving to America?

Well, they obviously would not as they have not to date.

Trump must have thought of this plan while sitting on the shitter.

He should have left it there.

These are people that earn ALL OF THEIR INCOME OVERSEAS.
These are extremely wealthy people, people who think 5 million is pocket change.
These aren't people who are going to move here and start applying for jobs

I don’t know

There’s been a massive crackdown on corruption in China, and that’s actually cratered some real estate markets outside of China, the money spigots are closed, and when rich Chinese people travel abroad they are very secretive now
