I don’t. Not after all the overt lies and stolen election is there any benefit to giving the left any equal footing.

From the fake dossier and fake Mueller investigation leading to four illegal FISA warrants to two fake impeachments , a leaked USSC ruling and across the political and entertainment pop-culture world. Jesse Smollett, Justice Kavanaugh, Nic Sandman, Kyle Rittenhouse… All of it was staged and orchestrated then promoted by what I believe to be an intellectually dishonest Marxist cult.

And many may not even call themselves Marxists They are just being used as useful idiots to achieve the goals of the extremists on the
Left.

Repealing Roe v Wade would not instantaneously ban all abortions everywhere. In fact it would do nothing of the sort. Yet that’s all we hear about from our so-called political leaders.

While I am not religious it doesn’t fall entirely on deaf ears when I hear people like Glenn Beck talk about compassion and treating the other side with due measures of respect. . But they have clearly already stated their intentions. Pretending otherwise is simply choosing to be naïve. .

Frick the left. They want you and your family in a gulag.

Ok, your terms are acceptable. Come do something about it and don't be shy.

I think trolling the left and drawing them out had its purpose (trump) but may be of limited use going forward.

We should probably pour our energy into building separate institutions and protecting them, and where it makes sense, backing allies (even if temporary) who can facilitate that. Twitter is an example. Elon's hitting back at the left is useful, but it's not the answer to our issues. It's buying us time, most likely, to guard against a future wave of conservatives/Christians/etc. being shut out of the mainstream and unable to rely on their own institutions.

This always happens when Republicans take over, they have no will to win, and just set themselves up for a quick defeat, which makes you thing they like being the minority, so they can talk tough, get the campaign cash, and actually do nothing when they win…..

What set me off is Glenn stating inanely that “ the Right does it too!”. Where??? Outside of Alex Jones, who’s proven far more correct than otherwise, despite Sandyhook, where is that massive Far Right wing disinformation ring?? No one has eve been able to show it because it doesn’t exist.

Yet Glenn is bowing & scraping for apologies as if he’s ashamed of …. what, I can’t say.

Just sick of this appeasement attitude.

I have no interest in backing the Beck comments, but I certainly believe the right has engaged in spreading falsehoods in pretty reckless fashion.

Even if we agree that "conspiracies become facts" which is vastly overstated but tinged with quite a bit of truth, the reality is that plenty of our folks are spewing information they have no way of verifying and they're doing it only because it opposes the mainstream narrative. Which is less than ideal even if you think we're managing to get it mostly right.

And I think some would say this is a war and you're going to get into gray areas in a war - and I agree. But the instinct to compromise and say "well we do it too" is valuable only in the confines of a thread like this. My comments about the right spewing misinformation are intended to encourage correction on the right, not to find common ground with the left that hates us. If Beck is doing it for the latter, I think it's a waste of time and energy.

That's how we got here. No thanks.

This is like going into a boxing match with an opponent that has declared they are going to put brass knuckles into their gloves, hit you in the back of the head and kick you in the balls, paid the referee and judges and will stomp you when you fall...and STILL saying you're going to play by the rules because to do otherwise would be ignoble.

Congrats on the arse beating.

Can you provide some specific examples of how the right is recklessly spreading falsehoods?
Can you expand on "conspiracies become facts" being overstated?

Ask Neville Chamberlin how a policy of appeasement worked out.

That sounds like something controlled opposition would say.

I think you are oversimplfying and mischaracterizing Beck's views. He's been one trying to wake people up to fight back for a very very long time.

Sure, specific to this place - this board jumps into action every time someone has a blood clot to proclaim that it's from the vaccine. Actually, this happened recently even when the death was from suicide. It's reckless and stupid and not something that has to happen to rebut the mainstream presumption that the vaccines are infallible (which probably isn't the presumption anymore anyway).

That would apply to the conspiracy theme as well. As mentioned, there is plenty of truth in the idea that the type of stuff this board talks about meets initial, specific resistance from mainstream media (the vaccine is entirely safe, etc.) and then such things have to be walked back, making the original "conspiracy" look quite a bit more accurate. But for every large theme like that there are scores of very specific claims that are never verified and are sometimes completely repudiated (like the suicide above).

But as mentioned, I think the bigger problem isn't necessarily getting it wrong, it's spewing information we can't verify because it comes from a source we're inclined to believe. Like "the vaccines alter your DNA." Someone on here sees a YouTube video by a doctor they've never heard of try and explain this. Perhaps there is merit to it, perhaps not. Nonetheless, it gets undying fealty from elements of this board well before the refutations and counterarguments supporting the idea can develop.

Appeasing the left is a fools game. They see appeasement as weakness and it only emboldens them to fight. We are in the middle of a civil war. Not "A civil war is coming" but "a civil war is here". People think because we aren't fighting it with guns in the street (well maybe sometime) that there is no civil war. It is being fought in the media, it is being fought in hollywood, it is being fought in academia, and it is being fought in our government. There is no reasoning with people like, Pelosi, AOC, Ilhan Omar et al. You have to defeat them and break their will to fight. Defeating them is all they understand. Trying to negotiate with people posting their pronouns and unable to define what a woman is will never be a strategy to win.
