Following surgery, she has developed complications including pneumonia. Pneumonia often afflicts elderly post surgery patients in the US, since antibiotics have resulted in Multi Resistant Strains of the lung infection.
Yes, there are some strains of bacteria in the US that are resistant to antibiotics, but that's NOT the main reason elderly, post op patients develop pneumonia. There are a number of more common, other issues in her case that contribute to her developing pneumonia, including: recent lung surgery; debilitation; protein malnutrition (very likely given her age, appearance and recent surgery); probable immunocompromised condition; advanced age.
I've pointed this out in other threads. At Ginsburgs age everything is serious. Simply recovering from the cancer surgery is serious and puts her at risk of developing a whole host of other issues that can become life threatening. Grandmother in good health fell, broke hip, died from pneumonia.
Got my Grandpa too...pretty quick. Plowed his mule two weeks before passing at 85.
Stress don't help. Poor Lady caught in a political storm. We all are.

Yeah, she has bad kyphosis, lung surgery, just probably too much volume loss and reserve to clear her lungs from normal secretions. Doesn’t sound good, but she’s beat the odds in the past.

I don't want to hear how Trump needs to replace a liberal with a liberal. Elections have frickin' consequences

If true that she retires, the left snow flake implosion will be beyond glorious.

Contracting pneumonia in hospitals is a death knell.
Never go to a hospital unless you are seriously dying of a gunshot wound.
Notorious for spreading infections from patient to patient...currently studies found that Filapino nurses of which the vast majority has become don't wash their hands or sanitize from room to room. But it's always been bad.
My Grandfather died in a hospital after a simple foot surgery in the 1970's...and he was young.
Caught an infection, died from pneumonia. If you're not sick, hospitals will make you sick...if you're sick, they will probably kill you.
