Sort of like all democrats crying over the patriot act during Bush's tenure and standing 100% behind it now?

Why are you ignoring all the posts clarifying why these are two entirely different situations?

This reminds me of my favorite William Buckley quote...

Your comparison is like saying that someone who pushes down an old woman to steal her purse is the same as someone who pushes down an old woman to get her out of the way of a speeding bus solely because they both push down old women.

Because he's either trolling or it proves his belief to be woefully naive, at best. And we all know that it's a greater sin to admit you are wrong on the Poli Board.

1. Were they high ranking members of their organizations?

Not all individuals in Guantanamo are of equal stature.

2. Did he go against the advice of the DoD and other intelligence agencies?

3. Did he follow proper protocol and inform Congress as instructed?

4. He isn't president anymore.
And not answering simple questions.

There is a distinct possibility that it is hypocrisy.

My question is, where the individuals Bush released of the same caliber as these 5?

Also, did Bush go against the advice of the intelligence community and did he not follow proper protocols in relation to the authorizing their release?

I'm not trying to defend Bush. I just want to point out that there are elements which could make the situations different.

I didn't know about the 520 released, so I can't comment.

Do you really think the majority who are criticizing the release actually went back and reviewed/parsed the difference in the 2 situations?

In hindsight we can all find reasons to justify our preconceived opinions.

Whenever I was younger and I did something wrong and wanted to justify it, I would say," but ( enter friends name here) did it too!" This was weak even as a youth trying to justify my wrong doing by implying that others did it as well. Doing this sort of thing as an adult is just lame.

Who does this on every single issue/post that comes up before they comment. Thats extremely unrealistic and you know it. Who's trying to score points now a want?

Did you just go back thru all of your post to see if this was a hypocritical post you made before hitting enter?

C'mon.
