( North Atlanta, Johns Creek area )
Almost every single station out of gas, completely.
The 2-3 I did see that still had gas, long gas lines, 1970's style, out to the street or across the Kroger parking lot.
" It's a facebook panic! "
Bullshite - this is very real crisis, and our federal gov't was caught COMPLETELY flat footed.

This is why Florida is in the clear.

quote:
The Colonial Pipeline is the nation’s largest pipeline for refined products like gasoline. The Colonial Pipeline carries gasoline and diesel from refineries in Texas, supplying states with fuel across the southeastern U.S. and up the Eastern Seaboard to New York.
Florida is not largely dependent on the pipeline for gasoline. Most of Florida’s fuel is delivered from Gulf Coast refineries via tanker ships. Because of this, Florida should remain well supplied with gasoline, despite the pipeline outage, the AAA said Monday.
However, as always, pump prices remain vulnerable to futures price swings, which are influenced by domestic and international supply and demand.
“The longer the pipeline is down, the greater the threat of rising gas prices,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA -

I posted earlier- I was at a quarter tank when I filled up today, (in the BR area). Like I said, lines at the Walmart station, waited about 10 minutes, and a few pumps were bagged off.
The Mobil station next door was empty at the pumps. They have a good deli, so I picked up some shrimp poboys, and I heard them tell people they were sold out of gas.
Some joker downvoted that post, possibly because I said "if you see a working station, you might want to get gas".
I work, and I need to drive to get there. I would have bought gas regardless, but right now you might not want to wait a couple days the way things are shaping out.
I'm not talking about filling up a half dozen gas cans, I'm talking about topping off.
The same people that mock this today will be whining by the weekend, if they wait and things are worse.

Most places are out here in NC by this afternoon including on Ft Bragg
The ones who do have gas I’ve seen lines over 50 cars
87 now around $3 91/93 $4

I have a few full gas cans, just waiting for the right time to sell for maximum profit.

No issues at Sam’s in Metry other than the morons who can’t seem to get out of their cars, insert payment info, pump gas, get back in their car and leave in a timely manner.

Filled up with diesel this morning at $2.69. If it runs out I know where they sell off road and I'm not afraid to run it (in a crisis).

Stations run out of fuel, consumers congest roadways from panic-buying after Colonial Pipeline shutdown
AAA also noted it takes upward of two weeks or so to get fuel flowing again through the pipeline once Colonial resumes normal operations.
Colonial released in a statement that, though its main line is down, it is manually operating Line 4, which runs from Greensboro, North Carolina, through Woodbine, Maryland. The shutoff of lines 1 through 3 caused President Biden to issue a state of emergency nationwide on Sunday, May 9.
Gov. Cooper followed suit in North Carolina on Monday afternoon by lifting fuel regulations.
“Today’s emergency declaration will help North Carolina prepare for any potential motor vehicle fuel supply interruptions across the state and ensure motorists are able to have access to fuel,” Cooper wrote in a release.
Colonial Pipeline revealed it expects to be up and running again by the end of the week.
“We continue to evaluate product inventory in storage tanks at our facilities and others along our system and are working with our shippers to move this product to terminals for local delivery,” Colonial noted in a release.

Why would they be worse in BR with no supply disruption?

Yep! Not far from you. I am in Chatham… Central Carolina is out! Stupid….

Exactly this. The people weren't told in time, I'm sure, to avoid panic. Just like when Fauci lied about wearing face masks, the 1st time, because doctors and nurses needed them first. It was for a good reason, after all. ESSENTIAL folks first, right?
Line's been down for 5 days. They THINK it'll be up by sometime this weekend.
Friday? Saturday? Sunday night?
Today's Tuesday. Stations are out NOW. And there's a short supply of truckers too, so hauling all that gas in won't cut it.
Unless that line gets fixed, and fast, it's gonna get ugly.
Posted on 5/11/21 at 6:27 pm to Cosmo
quote:Don't have the answer to that. I don't know how things get distributed, perhaps they don't get a delivery direct from Exxon by tanker truck? Maybe the standard procedure is to buy from the pipeline (which would be the wholesale distributor), especially if you are part of an interstate chain?
Why would they be worse in BR with no supply disruption?
Or maybe there's not a zillion tanker trucks available, and they're pulling a lot to make deliveries to areas totally dependent on the pipeline? So your shipment might get postponed, while we try to get something to other states?
All I know is, I saw an empty gas station, another with a couple closed pumps, people waiting to get in line, and WBRZ has stated a couple of other gas stations are also out (something on Jefferson, Chevron on Fla @ Lobdell).
And gas prices will rise, even here, if there's a crunch nationally. You may as well get what you can at today's prices, and not wait to see if they jump in a couple days.
Or, you can wait and see.

I think NC's cognitively impaired Gov started this with declaring an emergency, only blackface VA has followed.
