There is a very high likelihood of conflict in the 8th largest oil producer in the world as soon as the assets are positioned later this week. Why would you expect oil prices to be lower or at the very least unchanged with that backdrop? Re: Venezuela, there isn't a soul on earth that could revitalize their oil industry in 3 weeks.

Sam's/Costco in BR got down to 1.94 a couple of weeks ago. Today Sam's was 2.09. not complaining, just stating facts. I think Christmas week it was 2.02, down from the prior week, so today compared to December 15th might be down, but recently trending up.

I live in the KC metro, I haven't noticed any price increase here. Currently you can get gas at around $2.25/gallon.
