ANCG should have worried more about those shitty shameful greens they put out there.

That's called baking the greens. They don't want a repeat of Dustin Johnson firing a -20.

And good for them
You're saying you agree with BANNING the son of one of golf's greatest ambassadors, and a former Master champion, for product placement?

And yes, I know his own brother sided with the Masters in this. I have no idea what is going on there.

But YOU agree with this decision?

At first I thought it was just a random moment of the sleeve showing but now it appears it was intentional and he has a history of doing similar things.

The original article accusing him of racism didn't detail anything about him being a shameless promoter of his personal brands and it came across as just another inane accusation of "silent racism".

Hell yes I do.

It's their club - they make the rules. Hell they could make an extra $200M if they wanted to allow advertising, they don't so why should Player's son be allowed to pimp his merch.

And yet, Gary has several logos of sponsors on his shirt and hat. I don't get why it's a big deal. All of the players are walking billboards.

Come on man - it had nothing to do with racism but everything to do with him hawking golf balls for a company he's a part of. It was a shitty thing to do and the members AGNC have every right to ban him for being a shite bag.
I was being sarcastic. I thought that was clear from the hyperbole.

You must not be familiar with how Augusta National works. You'd be banned for life for sneaking a cell phone in and getting caught during the tournament.

I understand that, and I'm not saying he shouldn't have been corrected. But why not just tell him not to do it again? Why ban him? Where does this stop? Will they ban people for off the course behavior next? Should Tiger be banned for banging whores? Should John Daly be banned for being a drunk?

Because that's in the periphery of the moments on the course and he wasn't deliberately pointing at the logos along with the fact that he is a former player while his son isn't/ wasn't. This was a very explicit case of a caddy using an honored player to shamelessly advertise for himself.

Because he seems to have a history and a caddy is in no way in par with players.

The Masters has always taken commercialization (or the lack of it) very, very seriously. If you buy a coke, it comes in a plain green cup - no words or logos. If you get a pimiento cheese sandwich, it comes wrapped in plain green (or white) paper. There are no McDonald’s or State Farm ads on the leaderboards.

This douche is not going to get a pass because people respect his dad.

Yea, the guy also spent a little time in jail for selling fraudulent tickets to...you guessed it...Augusta. He is a shite bag, and anyone who has a problem with what Augusta did needs to have their moral compass re-centered. If he weren't Gary Player's son, he wouldn't have even sniffed the property after 2018. He was lucky they gave him a second chance, and he proceeded to frick that one up, too.

I imagine this has much more to do with his shameless pimping of merchandise during their ceremonial drive activities.

Man, this. Absolutely this.

And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, either.
