maybe not, but reality is if they fire him tomorrow, they’d just replace him with someone demanding a higher salary. And he’d get another CEO gig making just as much.

Corporate culture is pretty stifling, but people CHOOSE to work there over a private business.

They want the money and security, just not the bullshite that goes with it. They should leave.

I agree. I didn't like the culture, so I quit. I'm not saying that these companies shouldn't be allowed to have a culture like that. If people like it and want to be in it, that's perfectly fine with me.

It's an objectively shitty culture (for the most part and there are absolutely exceptions like the ones given here by people who like their situation, and I'm happy for them) that's the standard and not the exception. There's a lot of job-hopping in my industry and everyone has the same thing to say about the big guys. That's hardly a coincidence.

Yeah, if you look at the past positions of those in the CEO circuit you can see that once they're in the club, it doesn't really matter what they're heading up. You can't tell me that some guy who was the CEO of an industrial company now has some magical insight into the food industry.

The board of directors get a nice little salary and lifestyle to show up at meetings at fancy resorts and they just rubberstamp the CEO salary. It's not a good system for the investor
