The republicans should immediately move ACB to the front and fast track her through while doing this bullshite review/investigation of Kav at the same time. There is no beachhead to fight her (pretty sure she can’t be attacked for trumped up sex charges) and it sets up Kav to take over for Thomas, a sweet bit of poetic justice.

Kavanaugh is whistle clean and they’ve managed to mud wrestle him.
No candidate is safe from what they’re doing. We were all young and irresponsible and wrote goofy crap in yearbooks.

My only thought: The dems blew their irrational wad on fighting Kav. WTF would they do against ACB? It would expose them AND let the Kav investigation be finalized and settled at the same time... Thomas wants to retire but has no way out right now. I love the poetic justice of that scenario...

My point: Clarence Thomas could retire for a 100% confirmable Kav. We don’t need to wait for Ginsberg to croak to get a generational majority. That’s all I care about; 2 conservative justices that will be around for 30+ years

Totally agree so let’s make them fight on what they really are worried about: Abortion. With Kav they can hide their abortion panic behind the veil of Kav being a ‘sexual predator’. ACB would require them to argue facts

BTW, I think Lindsey G manufactured today’s Flake last minute decision. Lindsey knows he is trying to thread a needle with the elections but no Rs want to be perceived as the bad guy with their constituents. Just encourage Flake to do what he does (be a flaky jackass) and then you get everything...
