In my experience, most LEOs aren't shooters. Hell, many of them only shoot when they're required to qualify. I watched a customs agent qualify once and it was a complete joke. I'd be willing to bet that I can shoot better than most of SFPD excluding their SRTs.

So, you don't want to get shot?

I’d be more pissed that it took 99 shots to get him.

SF cops clearly need more time on the range.

No sympathy for someone that fires a shot or even points a weapon at the cops. Shoot the shite out of him.

Mike Tyson’s quote seems relevant here:
“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth”

Marksmanship is a fine motor skill, which is HIGHLY susceptible to eroding under stress (aka: when someone is shooting at you).

Most armchair marksmen posting similar remarks would probably do worse than these cops because these cops are exposed to life and death circumstances much more than the typical TDer (shocking, I know). Cops do train under situations intended to replicate stressful situations, but you really can’t replicate getting shot at with live ammunition without first determining an acceptable mortality rate.

Sounds like these residents want to employ the obama administration's rules of engagement policy.

What policy was that, exactly?

So the 12 cops each unloaded half a clip on an armed criminal who shot at them, after he held up two citizens at gunpoint. Problem?

The entire engagement lasted less than 5 seconds. With that many cops you get that many bullets

Only problem I see is he was hit 25x out of 99 attempts. Without improved accuracy it’s going to take a lot of rounds to make sure the threat is neutralized.

More like he's got 99 problems and bullets were all of them.

frick California. They get what they deserve. I just hate that so many of them move away because it's a shithole, only to vote for the same shithole policies that forced them to move. Liberalism is truly a mental disorder.

He didn't deserve it because he had just as shitty aim as the cops.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is called "spray and pray."

There was a Dallas-area police officer who jumped up on the hood of a chased car trapped in a cul de sac, and shot 41 times through the windshield, but only hit him 3 times (but killed him).

Greatest line by a cop being interviewed on TV after they tracked down a cop killer in the woods and shot him.

TV: Why was he shot 50 times?
Police Chief: We ran out of bullets.

Yup.

I beat the frick out of the target on the range.

But that target ain't ducking. It's not shooting back. I've no reason to think someone ELSE might shoot back. And, there are no other potential innocent targets on the range.
