It's hysterical how obsessed Americans are with the price of gasoline.

1) It's usually a metric of a fricked up Presidency. See Carter, Obama, and Biden.
2) Pretty drastic swing from paying $30/gallon to fill up, to $70 in less than a year.
3) As gas prices increases, the cost of EVERYTHING increases. How do you think food is shipped to stores? It's not powered by liberal farts. As gas increases, teh price of everything you consume increases.

Frankly, it's quite ignorant of anyone to not be at least concerned with spiraling out of control energy prices.

Isn't it? It's not like everything is affected by it or anything. It's not like it's becoming more expensive to transport food and household goods to stores, thus causing the cost of food and household goods to become more expensive or anything like that.

Typically inflation is caused by too many dollars chasing too few goods. The Fed has been propping our economy up for 12 years by making it rain money. Everyone seemed okay with that, but now that it's "OMG, $40 to top off my tank!!1!" just makes me laugh.

The fact is that people have structured their entire lives around the belief that cheap gas is a Constitutionally protected right. Commuting 90 miles round trip in an empty 1-ton truck that gets 16 mpg, living in a 3,000 sq ft house they have to heat and cool is the new American dream - based on cheap gas.

Paid $4.14 in Otown today. Assuming spring breakers increase to gouge them a bit but… wow, shot up fast

I hate how stupid democrats are.

Do you think it’s only your gas bill going up? Think that extra $1000 won’t be passed on to you at the grocery store and everywhere else? That $1000 suddenly turns into $4000-5000. That’s real money.

And yet no one's talking about the price of meat.

I remember the 70s inflation, everyone was talking about the price of meat, bread and milk - as well as gas. Now, it's just an obsession with gasoline.

Majority of the meat in America comes from the midwest. Trucks need fuel to transport meat across states. Higher fuel prices mean higher cost for everyones food.

The countries that import food will see inflated costs because ships need fuel.

Everything that requires trucks, ships, planes will go up in price.

3.79 at the Sam's Club in Hoover, AL, this morning. Cheapest I've seen in days. Drove about 100 miles south of Montgomery this weekend and the cheapest I saw was 3.69.

It's been mentioned here plenty of times.

But maybe more people would talk about it if the price was plastered in giant numbers on every corner. It doesn't take much common sense to understand why people more frequently mention the price of gas.

Dude, this board is OBSESSED with the price of gas. There's more than one thread on the price of gas on this board at any given time. I just looked and saw ZERO threads about the price of meat.

Liar.

Liar.

Well it’s appropriate to be obsessed with it at the moment. That doesn’t mean there haven’t been numerous threads on the increasing cost of goods, including the price of meat. I think you know that; therefore, liar.

And this is why Biden is hesitant to ban Russian oil. It's considered a barometer by a lot of people as well as so much of the economy is tied to it.

Meat prices have been up for months, and has been discussed here numerous times.

Jet A is through the roof. We just filled everything on the ramp (thank you, 12,000’ runway) and ordered another 10,000 gallons before it goes higher. It’s the same as 100LL. Craziness.
