Paid $3.99 in LA yesterday, and all the signs I saw were above $3.89, traveled almost across the whole state on I-10.

It's hysterical how obsessed Americans are with the price of gasoline

But let their gas bill go up by $1000/year, and all of a sudden their on the verge.

Isn't it? It's not like everything is affected by it or anything. It's not like it's becoming more expensive to transport food and household goods to stores, thus causing the cost of food and household goods to become more expensive or anything like that.

Yea people who are “diligent and fastidious” with finances understand that soaring gas prices mean more than the cost at the pump.
Appears you may be too stupid to understand it.

By far the biggest "inflation" metric people should be concerned about is housing, and yet most here vigorously cheerleaded Trump's bullying of the Fed to keep rates lower for longer. They also didn't seem to mind much of his spending. Even now, people are bitching about stocks correcting 10%...when before the complaint was "stocks are just being propped up by funny money"...unless it was Trump's funny money, then we loved it. etc.

we really need either a gas board, or a single thread, with all these updates.

when crude oil is refined they produce diesel, gasoline, jet fuel and other stuff. You do know prices for everything other than filling up your car will go up?
Don't play stupid.

Double digit gas in the US will cause a societal collapse. Poor people won’t be able to get to work, supply chains get worse. The ingredients are there for things to get real bad. Thefts will skyrocket. There will be shootings, riots, etc.

if it gets to $200 p/b, then you'll see gas up at $5.84 per gallon for regular unleaded and over $6.00 super.

And yet no one's talking about the price of meat.
I remember the 70s inflation, everyone was talking about the price of meat, bread and milk - as well as gas. Now, it's just an obsession with gasoline.

Meat right now isn’t bad. Chicken wings are high. I get steaks for 11-12 dollars a lb and pork isn’t expensive.

Pork and chicken are still relatively reasonable but beef definitely is not.

Louisiana is gonna be on that list in a day or 2. Saw $4.09 at one station this morning on the northshore and a few others at $3.99
