British had nothing to do with common law, Enlightenment ideals, or free market enterprise. Those aren't good things anyways. What they did do was invent racism a few hundred years ago.

Tell that to the people who lived behind the Iron Curtain.
The Brits weren't perfect. But they left behind their traditions of Common Law. Trial by jury, not being forced to testify if accused, the presumption of innocence, and property rights are just a few examples.
What those former colonies choose to do with that legacy is up to them.

Those things don't make the royal family any more relevant in the 21st century.

Your western conditioning keeps you from seeing it objectively. And the Royal Family serves no constructive purpose whatsoever. That's why.
Look at this high and mighty and all enlightened Asheville douche.

Meh, the Catholics tried it any number of times, starting with Guy Fawkes all the way up through the IRA in the seventies.

You seem to get it Bucky. No more British taxpayer dollars down a rathole.

You're really smart, Genuine. Please share your wisdom with the rest of us by listing the top 10 most brutal empires with a brief description of their atrocities. I'll hang up and listen.

The truth is the UK can't afford to get rid of the Royal Family, the loss of tourism dollars alone would have a crippling effect on the economy. You laugh and in your elitist way (thinking you are your own little royalty) sneer, but British government studies have shown that getting rid of the Royals would be hideously expensive at best and a disaster at worst.
As for your declaration they are the most brutal empire to have ever existed... the British were by no means saints. They were also by no means the most brutal empire to ever bestride the globe. Within living memory the Japanese, Soviet, and Nazi regimes, one of whom actually had the decency to call itself an empire, were far worse. The Romans, while bringing the gift of civilization, were exceptionally brutal in how they brought that gift to those around them. Even the mildly benign Persian empire had its bad spells. And somewhere, lost in the tides of history, Genghis Khan and the Mongols wave hello.
Genuine, you've made very broad declarations about the Royals and the UK. When others responded in kind you got (to use a British phrase) your knickers in a bind. Frankly you do anti-Royalty sentiment a disservice every time you say something on the subject. Are you quite sure you aren't really an agent provocateur shoring up Royal support by making their opponents seem like ill tempered jackasses? If so, I congratulate you sir, you have accomplished your task in style.

British Empire helped abolish slavery. I helped India after raping them and hurting them yes but eventually the British Empire did good for its nations. The British had a conscience most empires did not I agree that they were bad in many ways but they want the worst. I think it's stupid 300 years later to condemn them. I'm sure that America will look terrible300 years from now if you judge others based on the morals and 300 years.
And Muslims very much are a big part of England now. And in 50 years they will be the largest minority.
