EVs are more practical than gas vehicles for 90% of drivers. Unless you’re regularly driving long distances or carrying heavy loads a small EV sedan is more than enough.
Exactly how are they more practical? Please be specific. I can gas my car up in 4 to 5 minutes and get on down the road. How long to charge an ev? If they’re something practical I’m missing, please serious share the benefit. Thanks in advance

I like options, so a plug in hybrid with 30 miles of all electric range before switching to hybrid mode makes sense for my commute. I've had to fill up once in the last four weeks and get 450 hp to play with when I want it. This is the second hybrid I've purchased. The first was not a plug in hybrid, but got 45 mpg when I had a longer commute. It is a 2014 with 225k miles and is still running strong.
I've had nothing but great experiences with hybrids.

Because 80%+ of charging takes place at home. And that includes fleet data like rentals.
Take my wife’s model 3 for example. It’s used a public charger 4 times in its entire life. For a total of 60 minutes over 25k miles.

lol imagine the losers who paid $100k for a Ford or GM product. Sucker born every second.

Sure, you plug into your house every night and never stop at a gas station.

Folks, read that correctly, that is Billion with a B.
The EV scam that was forced on the market by the previous administration is real and these companies will suffer for it.
Unfortunately for Joe Taxpayer, these companies will likely seek (and get) bailouts for this poor decision making.
Whats worse is countries that went full green are now paying the highest utilities and face shortages. Idiots

No one really wants EVs outside of a Tesla
Was just thinking thee same,
People don't want EVs, they want Teslas.

That’s an overstatement, IMO. One of my boys recently bought an electric Mustang and loves it.
Mustang in name only. It’s not a good vehicle.

This is anecdotal at best.
I was responding to an absolute with a contradicting first hand data point.
Tesla’s market share is less than 50% now, and you dismiss the above anecdotal?

Ok. You charge it at your house, how much to install an outlet and how much does your electric bill average including charging your ev.
Seriously curious

Buying a ford or an EV takes a special kind of stupid. To buy an EV ford…you are a certified tard.

Fords EV market share is dead last and it’s not even close, but ok

About $800 installed for the charger. It usually goes up about $10 when she charged from 20%-80%.

Jesus, pal. I’m not making a case for his car. I’m saying that claiming Tesla is the only EV people want is idiotic.

Thanks for the info. Was seriously curious. How much to replace the battery? And also curious to which state of the union you reside? Because some states have a higher energy rates than others.

I’m in Texas but don’t have the best electrical plan, I need to shop it.
Battery replacement is a fun topic. Retail cost for them is around 15k installed. That market is picking up a lot of steam though and over the next 10 years there’s going to be a big shift to independent repowers and refurbs and salvage value markets for the degraded battery packs. Most of the research papers I’ve seen on it think the cost presented in today’s dollars will be about 5k for a full repower. Which should only be needed every 200k miles or so with potentially way more if you can life with more capacity loss.

EVs are fine as a second car for commute use only
frick having to stop and charge for 30 min to drive to Houston

Assuming you’re coming from Nola you would just need to plug it in while you take a leak halfway and it would get you enough juice to get you there.
