I was holding some Ford stock until full production of the bronco financials come out, but I’m selling it now.

Have not owned/purchased and American made car in over 35 years for that exact reason. Their union money goes directly to the Dems. Buck Fiden.

Chevy took bailouts, so I bailed on them. Now this?

I stuck with my Chevy because I realized that eventually all these auto manufacturers will go full retard on the woke wagon anyway.

I haven't bought a road vehicle since the bailouts though, except for negotiating on Mrs. TigerAxe's Kia.

When my old pickup finally goes tango uniform, I'll probably just build a rat rod and maintain it until my death.

The UAW is the biggest reason the domestic manufacturers have so much production in Mexico.

Part of the contract stipulates any plant built in the US or Canada has to have union representation. Mexican plants do not have that requirement.

GM/Ford/Chrysler could build a plant in right next to the non union Mercedes plant in Alabama and it would be union from the day it opened. No vote required.

Any wonder why the Big 2.5 have not built a plant in the south?

eta-That Mercedes plant in AL? It's the only non union assembly plant Mercedes has. Going to AL for Mercedes was like Ford building a plant in Mexico. Same reasons.

So did Ford. At least GM paid it back...

Forbes

quote:

Ford Motor owes the government $5.9 billion it borrowed in June 2009, the same month GM filed for bankruptcy. By Sept. 15, Ford needs to start paying that money back. In a government filing, the carmaker said $577 million is due within the next year, and the full amount must be paid off by June 15, 2022. The Obama Administration, dreaming of a million electric cars on the road by 2015, loaned Ford the money to help it pay for development of hybrids and EVs, and to retool its factories to produce smaller, cleaner vehicles. While not characterized as a “bailout” by any means, let’s be honest: Ford’s loan – received at a critical time when other sources of financing weren’t available to automakers or their suppliers – no doubt helped the carmaker survive the industry crisis and contributed to its strong market position today, especially after the Obama Administration finalized tougher fuel economy rules this week.

This was written in 2012. Ford did pay this off early.

GM on the other hand got billions they never paid back including deals that violated US bankruptcy law. The created new and old GMs. OLd GM ate all of the debt. New GM kept all of the assets. But then New GM was gifted all of the $Billlions oftax losses of old GM. SO GM made billions of dollar with no long term debt and DID NOT HAVE TO PAY ANY TAX ON IT,

Ford got no such deal. What Ford did not get a bailout. It mortgaged all of its' assets right before the crash which it also paid off very early and then paid off the US loan debt. The honorable way.

You may not like electric vehicles (I don't) or building vehicles in Mexico (I don't) but this truck will be built in Dearborn MI.

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning will be built at the brand new Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, currently under construction in Michigan, and is scheduled to enter production in mid-2022. However, the body and paintwork will still be completed alongside ICE-powered F-150 models at the Ford Dearborn Truck Plant.

Didn't Ford just release an electric line of trucks? Not surprised Biden in bed with em, meanwhile China keeps getting richer from lithium.

If I was in charge of a company's marketing and a competitor ran a woke ad or an ad like this, I would immediately advertise in the opposite direction to take advantage of their stupidity.

Someone at Ford must have failed statistics. Joe got 0 turnout at rallies, 0 viewership for his speeches. If they wanted a true American influencer they should've went MAGA.

BTW is that F-150 running on sunshine or GASOLINE?
