When I'm putting my boys down to sleep at night, I let the four year old watch his iPad while I get the two year old down. The first time I did this, I told him that as soon as his brother was asleep I'd be back into his room to get the iPad and give him a hug good night. Once I got in there, he negotiated an additional two minutes before going to sleep. This was two months ago. Now he gets 10 extra minutes.
