When I said that I had no reason to disbelieve him, I DID NOT say I was "familiar with" him. I do not start from the assumption that ANYONE is a liar, and I said ONLY that I did not have any reason to believe that he was lying about Kelley's (alleged) observation.

LATER, after the start of our exchange, I read one of his other articles, at which time I opined that he was a liberal, hated Trump and appeared to be quite intelligent.

I still feel the same on all points. His analysis of the Schultz candidacy was spot-on, and his writing skills were quite good. I doubt that he and I would agree on quite a few ideological issues, but I think he is a bright guy. I still have no reason to believe that he would fabricate a series of conversations with a deceased friend.

Neither being a liberal NOR being a conservative works to make one an inherent liar. It is a bit sad that you believe otherwise.


As an aside, you should leave the flurry of emojis to the inarticulate dimwits who need them. You are brighter than that.

No, I do not find it odd at all. Trump was a public persona LONG before he involved himself in politics. It is not odd at all that a professor might rant about his former student to a close friend.

Timing? Read his original column. The comments about Trump's intelligence were clearly made in RESPONSE to statements that Trump had JUST MADE regarding his OWN intelligence, during the Tillerson "fricking moron" debacle, as I recall.
