For those unfamiliar, Hayek calls free market capitalists 'liberals' and left wing people 'central planners.'

I’ve restated his opinion before from “RTS”
Progressives bastardized the term liberal, and it makes me subtlety cringe when I hear conservatives call them liberals.
A true liberal believes in liberty and freedom.
Progressives/leftists want to take away more and more of them.

I went with my wife to a doctors visit because she's having thyroid issues, and we are sitting with the nurse assistant who starts asking all types of questions, most routine.
Then she asks the wife if she's ever been exposed to radiation. The wife says no, then the assistant asks her, " have you ever been to Chernobyl?" I kid you not. It was the strangest question I've ever heard asked at a doctors office.

Is this supposed to be a surprise? To be honest, the avg govt official in ANY form of govt tends to be more cut throat and willing to frick you over to get ahead than your avg citizen.

I suspect because those who are morally bankrupt will do whatever it takes to ascend to the top. Look at the degenerates who are willing to take advantage of those affected by a disaster in order to make a buck for themselves.

This is now “classical liberalism” or modern American conservatives. To the right of them are the Libertarian and further is anarchy. Small or limited government wing.
To the left are the progressives of the Democrats and Republicans. Further are the socialist. And extreme are communist (world focus) and Fascist (nation focus). Also dictatorship, monarchy, and theocracy who’ s exact position varies by who is in charge at that time. Big or unlimited government wing.
