Why can you only conceptualize politics in terms of politicians?
Policy is what matters.
This. Multiple things can be true at once. It's possible to love Trump's policies and his executive actions but despise him on a personal level. Many Americans do. That doesn't mean they'd ever vote for the open border, Trans loving baby killers.

Smaller government. Less government power at the state and local level.
Too many liberals have infiltrated at this level, less Government is what they despise

Cutting federal spending at a meaningful level to deal with our debt.
The waste was identified via DOGE, imagine there’s much more that wasn’t. All for this though.

No we are discussing the thread.
OP derailed his own thread and I can do 2 things at once (reply substantively to those who want to participate and to OP on his weird digression-obsession).

It's not just that.
You can enjoy most of his policies and think he's OK as a pol, but still disagree strongly on many of his policies. Focusing on the pol alone is why people get accused of being in a cult, and how you get idiotic white flag responses to valid criticism like "so Kamala would be better, huh?"

MAGA lies more than Progressives.
Yall have zero morals.
Are you claiming the handful of Dems/progressives here don't support the far left/Marxists? i.e. their own party

Trump does a lot of things I like and a lot of things I don't, and doesn't do a lot of things I think he should.
But he's better than any republican president we've had, at least since Reagan and maybe including him.
I think Trump would do a lot more but his hands are tied by his own Party!
The Republican led Senate has never truly supported Trump, as evidenced by their contributions to RINO Senators. Here in Texas, every day on radio and TV is John Cornyn b.s. commercials. Similar to when they poured in money for Lisa Murkowski and ignored other new blood candidates. The Republicans have not pushed any of Trump's objectives- they should be trying to get his EO's into laws! For all that Trump has done, when he leaves office, everything will be torn down by the Dems while the RINO's just sit back like they always do. I will enjoy next year and hope we at least maintain a majority in both houses, otherwise we will see Trump's final two years of nothing but impeachment filings. Sad to say when Trump is out of office, MAGA dies with him, I have no confidence in the shitty Republican Party!

So the leftists/socialists on this board don't support their own party?
...if that's true, then why are they "leftists/socialists"?

We haven't had a conservative president in 37 years. It would be nice to have one. Someone that also doesn't act like a ten year old when they don't get their way. I've voted for Trump, but he was far from the ideal candidate. It would be nice to vote for someone that really wants to better America. The America first BS that Trump is selling is a bunch of garbage. I'm all for closing the border, that's the one thing he did right, but all the other stuff is killing the average American. The tariffs are the dumbest thing he has done. They aren't working and won't work. As a small business owner, it's driving my cost on everything except fuel.
