A single bit of evidence on this would suffice. They've been "weeks away" since the mid-2000's.
As for the rest, I would rather not get our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen killed if we can avoid it. We're at 13 with 200+ with serious injury and counting. I am an Iraq combat veteran who saw the death and destruction firsthand, including a member of my unit who lost his legs to an Iranian-supplied EFP. Trump's administration hasn't articulated the actual strategy and final goals of this boondoggle, and it appears to be an ever-greater clusterfrick every day this goes on.

Would suffice for what?
You think the POTUS has to tell you what classified information he has access to so that you can decide whether a military action is justified or not?

Then why is this the first time we've intervened?

Keep giving them billions and apologize for being white Colonizers and Christians. The Book of Barry.
We gave Iran $400M in a settlement related to 1979. Then we negotiated a deal between them, Europe, China, Russia, and the U.K. where they had to ship out 95% of their uranium and enrichment was capped at 3%.
Then Netanyahu came and cried to Congress how much he didn’t like that.
Then we drop the deal, impose sanctions, shite escalates, we take out Soleimani, and Iran aggressively pursues a nuclear weapon.
Trump the diplomatic genius.

Maybe we should have treated them as a nation state instead of climbing in a glass box and pretending that if we were just sanctimonious enough that they’d give it up for nothing.
But that’s my view on foreign policy generally.

This is a truly hilarious take after the Iraq/WMD situation

That’s the thing they had already agreed to give it up & we managed to fumble our own international deal
I don’t really care what anyone says, I prefer the path we were on in 2017 with Iran to the one we’ve been on since 2018.

why would we go to war, when trump himself mentioned their nuke capabilities was nill after the strikes.
so?
They were rebuilding.
I guess your plan is wait until 2028 and hope dems don't win?
Great plan...

I’m not disagreeing.
I’m mocking the people who spent the last ten years dunking on the GOP and W for Iraq only to be parroting the same talking points for this nonsense.

Only two weeks away!
Iran is only slightly farther behind than we were behind Italy during Covid.

I’m not either. I’m saying this is Trump and Netanyahu’s mess + it started in 2018, not 2026. That dude (Netanyahu) has been pushing for conflict with Iran for decades.

Keep applying sanctions to cripple their economy. States can fall without the use of military force. The Soviet Union is the perfect example of this.
Striking at Iran the way we did is like wacking a hornet's nest. Sure, the nest will fall. But the chances of you getting stung (economically in our case) is very, very high. And wacking the hornet's nest doesn't ensure that all the hornet's will die. You'll just get a new nest eventually, or multiple small ones that still cause problems.

Sorry, you think they weren't rebuilding their nuke program after we bombed then last June?

I’m certain they were. You think breaking it again is going to prevent them from rebuilding it again?
Or are we going to bomb them every ten months?

Doesn’t seem like bombing broke it, but this wasn’t something we needed to worry about in 2017 now was it?

Some people require more than one punch to the face before they quit.
Good to know you'll quit immediately though.

So you do think the Commander in Chief of the US military owes you an explanation? You, personally. That's what you're saying, right?
And BTW, several countries thought Iraq had WMDs, not just the US.
You tell me, what scenario is worse, to think they have them and act accordingly and then find out they don't, or to act as though they don't and find out when it's too late that they do?

weird....we were told that operation midnight hammer wiped out all their nuclear sites and any questioning of that was "fake news"
SO....did Trump lie?

They bomb our base we vaporize a city. Pretty simple actually

So how long and how often are we cool with spending enormous amounts of money and resources playing whack-a-mole?
