OK. There's this relatively new chain out there called Chicken Salad Chick. I've eaten there once.

The place was fricking packed and, at age 50, I'm reasonably certain that I was one of the 10 youngest people in the building. And, I'm sure I was one of no more than 10 males.

Have you seen this place? People. If someone had tried to sell the idea of this place on our board 10 years ago, we'd have ALL laughed them out of the room.

The fricking place is a monument to capitalism. It's business model from what I can tell is:

1. Primary old people customer base
2. Mostly female customer base
3. Primarily lunch time crowd.
4. Decor straight out of your grandma's house(and I mean your grandma if YOU are 50)
5. And they fricking sell chicken salad! Lol Varieties of chicken fricking salad.

Who thought of this shite and why am I not related to them!

There’s one by my house but I’ve never gone because it seems to be heavily marketed to women and I don’t really like chicken salad.

If they’re doing we good for them though. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me to be as huge of a hit that it is.

That's what makes it an awesome story of capitalism.

A GREAT example of how somebody made money off shite 9 in 10 people would have laughed at

What's the deal with people paying like $5 for crap yogurt simply because they have overpriced kiwi and Cap'n Crunch to sprinkle on?

I'm a total food snob and I'm flat out stating that McDonalds ice cream for .50 is better ice cream and literally 10% of the price.

I mean I will eat it but I would not go to a place that only serves chicken salad. Just a personal preference.

Oddly enough I go to a place that has the best chicken salad sandwich I have ever had and it is usually me and at least 80% women 40 and up.

Maybe you young dudes should learn to make chicken salad your seduction menu item when you invite a lady over for a romantic dinner.

On the other hand female love of chicken salad may only kick in at menopause.

Great post.

I’ll admit that I was hoping this would be a thread about replacing the now vacant Robert E. Lee statue or other removed confederate monuments in New Orleans (or elsewhwere). Not only would a monument to capitalism be appropriate, considering how it is the great egalitarian economic system that ensures freedom and on which, as much as anything else, our extreme prosperity as a nation has relied, but it would really piss off progressives.

ETA: And I love chicken salad and my grandma too!

I've often said that if restaurants opened for 10 am for lunch instead of the standard 11 am they would have a niche that paid off. I know that fast food places open early but that's not what older folks are looking for.
