As noted why do you think the “internet giants” are backers of this? Because hey are nice guys?

I love young people who think everyone is as lazy as them when it comes to learning new things as they progress in life.

Hint. We aren't.

In an amazing twist of fate, it turns out that if the government plans to force Party A to cover the cost of Party B's profit seeking ventures, Part B supports said plan.
Nah. It’s because they are nice guys. They really care about having a free and open internet. Just look at how google, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter act toward controversial content producers. They welcome them, even when they don’t agree with them, right?

At what age makes you "old" and not able to understand the internet?

What about the "old" CCIE or CCAr folks out there? Do they not understand how the internet works?

Yup.

He's basically a guy who has figured out how to make a lot of money because he knows how to be funny and to articulate ideas in ways that appeal to people who don't understand the subject he's talking about.

Let me know when the govt tells utility companies that if a new customer shows up wanting to use their infrastructure at triple that structure's capacity.......it's ALL on the utility to cover that tab.

Data caps. I haven't read the whole thread - did I miss the discussion on data caps? Cause data caps at least partially solve this problem. Data caps line up with the electricity analogy real well too. Data caps.

Data caps.

the market for internet services and for television content is roughly similar in 2017 to what it was in 2002?

Not content, dipshit, ISP.

And yes. Since 2002 Cox Cable has been the ISP in this area and still is and it's always sucked as had its infastructure and customer service.

well if you compare google or facebook to an ISP that would be my first sign. taxing autority has done that at least 4x in this thread alone

another sign would be thinking i cost an ISP more money because i stream 20GB compared to another guy streaming 10GB

That's the other best part.

They tell me "but Comcast et all oppose NN".

That's somehow evidence they are "right" in their minds.

It's TOTALLY lost on them that FaceBook and Google DWARF the "giants" they hate. And they LOVE NN

And, they worry about content restrictions when literally every major company FOR NN..........has engaged in content restrictions.

No. He's pointed out they are also powerful corporations with their own interests. If you call that "comparing", you're being fricking retarded.

Well good. You assume too much. I think nothing of the sort.

I find it hilarious that we have a 23 page thread of people claiming they don’t have adequate internet access.

Oh. The. Irony.
