Will he do anything about it?
Google is absolutely selling all of the information it gathers to China. Should be terrifying to everyone.

This does sort of beef a question
If China gaines control of all of the modern methods for disseminating information does that mean that effectively our Bill of Rights will be repealed except for anything you can pay for and deliver yourself?
All while pro Chinese information can be disseminated far and wide
That sure seems like a bad idea

The protections they have due to being classified as "platforms" vs "publishers" need to be done away with immediately. They have made it very clear they have the ability to control their content.

Yep, and their antitrust penalties need to fall in line with the wealth/value of Google. Google and the other tech titans will pay antitrust penalties all day long when they're pennies on the dollar value of noncompetitive practices, even when they make headlines because they're the "biggest ever levied."
And then maybe use these funds to seed competition. After all, Google got its start in significant part from federally funded research.

Yep
I'm okay with private business doing Private business things but not while simultaneously getting government protections under the pretense they aren't doing those things

This is the original The Verge article that started the discussion:
YouTube is deleting comments with two phrases that insult China’s Communist Party
FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr then tweeted the following in response to the article:
quote:
Oopsie. We did a propaganda.
Then he tried to see if YouTube would censor him if he typed the phrase:

It certainly is a bad idea.
And it absolutely can happen.
It already is happening to a degree, as you can see.
