The FBI arrested a total of 169 people during an 11-day operation targeting human traffickers who flooded Atlanta with sex workers ahead of the Super Bowl. From Jan. 23 through Feb. 2, a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement busted 26 people they said were trafficking the forced sex workers. The FBI said it also arrested 34 people who tried to have sex with minors. The FBI arrested 94 people in a similar operation in Minneapolis during last year's game. "[T]he operation’s goal was to raise awareness about sex trafficking by proactively addressing that threat during the Super Bowl and events leading up to the Super Bowl,” the FBI said in a statement. “Sex trafficking is not just a problem during large scale events, it is a 365-day-a-year problem in communities all across the country.” Nine of the victims recovered by authorities were ages 14 to 17. Nine adult victims were also rescued.

When will liberals ever give Trump the credit he deserves for taking a wrecking ball to the sex trafficking trade.

Think of how much he could accomplish if they'd let him secure the border.

Yeah. It should probably get kicked over to the sex trafficking/pedo sting board.

The FBI credited its partners in the Department of Homeland Security, Atlanta police, state of Georgia, prosecutors' offices and anti-trafficking organizations for helping make the operation possible. Two dozen government entities and seven private ones were involved.

Democrats want to abolish "ICE" so it is political.

The idea that Trump is uniquely waging war on pedos is a centerpiece accomplishment among the fringey Trump supporters.

Making huge pushes on sex trafficking during major events like the SB has been a thing for a while now (and definitely predates Trump), but nonetheless it's something his most ardent supporters like to give him credit for. It's been a particular "issue" for Atlanta for at least a decade, as Atlanta has a pretty bad sex trafficking problem that becomes extremely bad when major events come to town (likely due to a huge volume airport).

I can only hope those that make jokes about this do not understand the scale of which human trafficking occurs in today’s society. It is everywhere and hidden in plain site.

Prostitution of a minor has been a widespread crime for a long time but they've recently rebranded it "child sex trafficking" which seems to make more of an impact, it emotes better to people.

What I mean, is that when a 17 year old is willfully engaging in the prostitution (horrible), it still isn't as bad as a 4 year old getting kidnapped and smuggled into a secret opium den and chained to a wall, which is what "child sex trafficking" invokes images of.

serious question, if we hold a SuperBowl in DC can the FBI arrest the 535 whores on Capitol Hill along with all of their K-Street pimps?

I think this is right. I mean, when I originally heard the term sex trafficking I thought of Taken-like shite or people bringing over eastern europeans to be au pairs and putting them into sex slavery instead.

I don't think of 17 year olds from Baltimore or Houston getting addicted to drugs then running away from home with their dealers who end up partnering them with some pimp.

The latter is probably the more common example, the invoking images of the former certainly gets more attention from the public

Explain then why trafficking/pedo arrests under Trump are up exponentially over his predecessors.
