Fauci is a Swamp Rat. To me, the lingering memory of that jerk will always be the time Fauci gestured to Jonathan Karl as they were leaving the podium, right after Karl had had made some completely ridiculous comment that even Karl was forced to retract later. The gesture was clearly indicating solidarity with Karl.
Trump has already rendered Fauci to be an afterthought. After Tuesday, I wouldn't be surprised if he fires that little traitor.
EDIT - Here's a photo of what I was mentioning. Fauci is gesturing to Karl, not the Chinese chick.

One of the problems is this guy is an epidemiologist and they don't give a shite about economics. That is not their focus.
So he should not have been trotted out at the beginning of this pandemic to set the expectations. It should have been made clear that the administration was going to make its policy based on both economics and epidemiological concerns. Instead, we now have the cult of masks and science!
That said, he is a self-promoting windbag and his opinions have been inconsistent (don't need to wear masks/need to wear masks even while sleeping) and his advice all over the place.
