I’m just glad I’m not a juror. It would be a hell of a struggle between legality and morality.

I'd go with morality in a case this cut & dried (assuming it is as it reads).

I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure a Judge can over-rule a verdict on legal grounds. So I'd do my part, the rest is up to the Judge.

That's a role model we should all look up to. Does he have a go fund me account I can donate to?

The judicial system failed him. And then the prison system failed him. So the Dad took matters into his own hands and got the job done.

We should be rewarding him, not arresting him.

There’s a very real reason the right to a jury trial is enshrined in our Constitution.

Unless you are dealing with the IRS.

I'm not justifying anything, but what is missing from this story is what the victim went through for the last 12 years.

That's unlikely to be made public, but Dad clearly decided 12 years of prison wasn't enough to make up for that

This is why I have zero issue with this... nobody knows what his daughter has gone through and the absolute hell he had to witness his daughter go through in private, let alone public... idk if I wouldn't have done the same thing, but thankfully I haven't been in that position... that poor family, and that poor girl... props to dad for making sure he can't reoffend

All I'm saying is, if we lived in a just society, that jury would find the man not guilty. He might get that kind of mercy in Elkhart IN.

It’s not about getting away with it. It’s about protecting his daughter. I’d do it in a heartbeat for my daughter, wife, son, granddaughter, etc. This guy was free and anytime he wants he could go after her. The law wouldn’t protect her so he had no choice. This trash won’t bother her again. Problem solved.
In my scenario, she is also protected but at the hands of a hired killer. In my scenario there is a chance he could dinner every night with his daughter. In yours, not so.

Id be more than happy to serve on that jury. And then buy him a beer when he walks free.

All it will take is one or two Democrats on the jury to put this guy in jail forever. Democrat voters LOVE to protect pedophiles.
