F-35 Compromised by Chinese circuit boards

Lockheed's F35 supply chain contains circuit boards, used specifically for navigation and fuel consumption, supplied by a wholly owned Chinese Gov't front company located in the UK. Every manufactured F35 could conceivably have these circuit boards installed.

So disappointing if true.
I remember hearing years ago that NSA had its own classified microchip fab plant just because of things like this. They wanted super clean chips with no backdoors for mission critical work. Maybe the Air Force should contact NSA.

Doesn't work that way. The engineering of the board is pretty much set in stone, the Chinese have it, and it has to be reengineered, it's been compromised. It will cost billions on top of the millions of lines of new
code.

What do you think part those two large military budgets were for. It just wasn't the F-35's

Never should have been legal for items like these to be made outside of the U.S., or at the very least not by a non-ally.

Whistleblower within the MOD leaked it. LM's response seemed flatfooted, especially when they couldn't say if there were any more Chinese suppliers. It's just typical of LM. They got Gates to kill off the F-22 because LM were prohibited by Congress from selling the F22 overseas. F35 has always been about overseas sales, and dragging out the contracts for as long as possible.
