The Deep State is the unelected drones who depend up the government for their wellbeing. They resist any and all who want a smaller more efficient government that will damage their gravy train.

The "Deep State" is nothing more than a synonym for bureaucracy garnished with a nice hefty slice of partisan conspiracy. While most of us, right or left, believe that the government is bureaucratic as frick and oozes red tape from every pore of its collective being, there's only one party who believes this bureaucracy is a hyperpartisan monster and only since a particular man came into office.
The "deep state" is now used to excuse the audacity and corruption of a narcissistic, uncouth, ineffective, dimwitted, racist sexual predator of a con man when the bureaucracy holds him accountable for abusing the office he holds. Trump campaign staffers had nearly 100 meeting with Russians prior to the election? That's just the "deep state" making shite up. Trump paid off a porn star less than 2 weeks before the election to keep her quiet? That's just the "deep state" digging up unimportant dirt. The FBI extends a FISA monitoring warrant against a self-admitted Kremlin puppet named Carter Page? Obviously, the liberal deep state at the FBI made all of this up to go after Trump.
The true "deep state", if one insists on using this ambiguous term, moreso alludes to what SCLibertarian referred to; a world of dark money, lobbyists, wealthy donors, and powerful institutions like banks and defense contractors who fight behind the scenes for power. They don't always win, but they don't always lose, either. This "deep state" is not partisan, it's all about money. Trump's actions, and the fact he's been exposed as being the fraud half of Americans knew he was before he took office, are in no way associated with this version of the "deep state".
Basically, anyone who uses "deep state" in relation to Trump are basically just deeply paranoid, gullible, ignorant, or a combination of all three.

Also, it's hilarious to me that some of you arse hats think that the FBI and CIA are full of liberals. I mean, really?!? Every other segment of law enforcement and the military are overwhelming conservative but, somehow, the FBI and CIA are liberals?
The same FBI that announced Hillary was being investigated 11 days prior to a Presidential election but chose NOT to tell us that Trump was under FBI investigation, as well?

I was in the military and I can tell you it's an overwhelmingly conservative group of folks. Here's an article from Military Times showing Trump was favored by greater than a 2-1 margin over Clinton in '16.

No it's not, it's a synonym for the Central Bank owned by outsiders.

I like how they came up with the excuse that it was “unelected” folks who make up the deep state, thereby clearing themselves of all fault. Makes me wonder why they don’t have a problem with Ivanka Trump filling in for her Dad at various U.N. Events.
