The left acknowledges the deep state as well.
If you don’t believe there are individuals and institutions who exercise power—independent of (and sometimes over) civilian political leaders—you’re misled.

"Them" were the 3 people in the original quote.

Considering that the term "deep state" has been used to broadly describe a lack of turnover for powerful people that influence policy, of course I agree that it exists in that sense. Specific conspiracy theories are a different story and it isn't just the right that gets off on this type of shite, people in general often prefer a bad explanation over no explanation at all.

There are two separate issues being conflated here. On one hand people are describing the deep state as high ranking civilians and SES that are entrenched in their agencies. Fine.

The problem is the usage of the term on the right currently goes way beyond this. It's being used to dismiss the consensus position of law enforcement and Intel as well as any political or legal rebuke of the administration's activities. It has become a purely political term.

When Federal Reserve came in at the beginning of the 20th century.

“Give me control over a nations currency, and I care not who makes its laws” – Baron M.A. Rothschild

The day the Federal Reserve Act was passed, "the Constitution ceased to be the governing covenant of the American people, and our liberties were handed over to a small group of international bankers."

"Swiss and Saudi Arabian contacts identified the top eight shareholders of the Fed Reserve as the Rothschild Banks of London and Berlin; Lazard Brothers Banks of Paris; Israel Moses Seif Banks of Italy; Warburg Bank of Hamburg and Amsterdam; Lehman Brothers of New York; Kuhn, Loeb Bank of New York; Chase Manhatten; and Goldman, Sachs of New York."

It’s just the far rights version of “that’s racist”. A faceless nameless entity in the ether to blame things they don’t understand or agree with on. They were all convinced the election was rigged until trump won. If shite isn’t going the way they want it’s muh deep state. It’s an unfalsifiable scapegoat. And that will upset them and increase my downvote intake, but it’s the truth.

The victim mentality of the right now that Trump is the leader of the conservatives is a mind boggling shift for the party of "personal responsibility "

Comments like this one are emblematic of the unfortunate level to which political discourse has devolved.

People won’t listen to others’ views.
Once upon a time, we talked with each other over a beer, listened to differing perspectives, then moved along, no worse for the wear, and with a better understanding of our neighbor.
Now we use insults like “muh [X]” to avoid hearing each other.

Going to yell at a cloud now.

It happened slowly over time through the creation of different bureaucracies full of unelected officials with little oversight, and lobbyists for these officials getting congress to pass laws granting them more power and protections, allowing them to eventually act alone on their own agendas with little consequence, often against the interests of the voters and country.

So the resident libs are saying that no deep state exists because it’s unreasonable to think the ruling elite would ever abuse their power say we cannot trust rich people with their own money because they will hastily abuse their power.

Gotchya

I think you are intentionally misrepresenting what folks have been saying. Using the term "deep state" to dismiss every critique, political rebuke, and the consensus opinion of Intel and law enforcement is what we are saying is silly. You can have your hypothetical boogey man all you want as long as you stop using it for the above.
