They sucked when Obama was cramming stuff down our throat. Now Trump is going the same route the other way. Should Congress address this situation before it gets too far out of hand and we find ourselves with a dictator?

I'd undo every single one of Obama's, then go to congress and ask for a resolution to the EO loophole.

Trump is mostly undoing years of poorly thought out and oppressive regulation.

it all depends on the content of the EO. if it's good for the country, it's fine by me.

At this rate Trump will have more EO's in 4 years than Obama had in 8

He's doing what the people who voted for him want and it's what he said he was going to do.

He can get a lot of it through congress later and remove the EOs. Obama left a huge mess to fix. Time is of the essence.

Don't you mean for the good of the country as it pertains to your set of circumstances.

But that was Obama's reasoning too. "Republicans are obstructing my agenda, so I'll just bypass Congress for the good of the country."

That's a dictator.

First, Obama largely used Memorandums since they aren't counted and are tougher to track. Some are very minor. And that's what Trump is doing as well to be honest.

Only because Obama used Executive Memorandum instead more often than any president.

EOs/EMs are good in certain situations.

As a go around Congress on an issue that Congress should clearly be controlling, they are bullshite.

Trump hasn't done that yet.

He's undone Obama's bullshite. That's about it so far.

How many of Trump's EOs are undoing Obama's EOs vs generating new ones?

In place of legislation, they do suck. To take care of things that are under the executive purview, they are great.

Also, by definition, he has to use EO to get rid of existing EOs. Catch 22.

You're comparing someone that cut an old woman in order to try to kill her with a doctor that cut the same old woman in order to try to save her life and saying they are the same solely because they both cut an old woman.

I think most of them are new. The abortion one is usually flipped to start with, and then he rolled back the mortgage insurance thing that the last HUD secretary did.

The rest are new things, although they are attempts to undo policy actions by obama admin.

Every human on earth knew he was gonna issue a shite ton of EO's on week 1 to undo your savior, Barry's, nefarious work.

Unless you're that uninformed.

I can't stand Obama. I have just seen that EO's seem to be getting out of hand lately. Bush and Obama especially. I was wanting to see if the trend increased or if something is going to be done about it. Obama took it to another level, imo... trying to make temporary laws.

Trump is off to a fast start. We need to get a hold of it. Slippery slope.

resolution to the EO loophole.

There will be no resolution because the legislative branch has no power over enforcing the law. That is strictly the responsibility of the executive branch which is done through the many different agencies.

The only way to minimize the power of EO is to minimize the agencies under the EB's control.
