That's good. I view that as being naïve at best. Just my opinion.

Yeah, again, this false dichotomy isn't the actual choice we have. There are several choices, but what fundamentally people want is to justify their own authoritarian tendencies by saying 'the other side forced me to do it.' It's going to end terribly for everyone but I guess you'll have to see it to believe it.
I disagree that it's a false dichotomy. Yes, there were several choices, all of which have been rejected.

Actively fighting progressivism is the only option when facing progressivism. Omphaloskepsis isn’t.

Once you understand the normal curve of intelligence, you realize that true democracy is doomed to always fail. That’s why we were set up as a republic.

You have, you're not being honest here.
What concepts of democracy work for you today, with the current electorate? You seem to hate the common man and his beliefs, why do claim to "have faith?"
Democracy is a race to the bottom, thank God we don't have one.

Well whether or not you're right in this specific instance, your beliefs are the traditional method for authoritarians to scare people into supporting their side. As Roger said earlier, this is just copying what the Left has been doing.
Nobody has been able to sell me on why this religious-fascist authoritarianism is any less scary to me than the progressive-Communist authoritarianism. And both sides use the same generic propaganda. Like LITERALLY the same on a conceptual level.
The majority of the country doesn't want extremism. They just are paralyzed by a society that's rewarding the loud minority of extremists, paralyzed by the thought that wrongspeak will lead to punishment by one of the 2 sides.

This doesn't require its polar opposite in authoritarianism, though.

Nah, there are still several choices.

Rog, chill out. I was even going to tell you earlier in this thread how we agree.
About the quote above: we do have a democracy, just not a pure democracy. I was using the term with its common definition of a government based on citizen participation via voting, not mob rule via every decision being made by a vote.

The fact that Democrats are likely to be rejected in a few weeks for pushing things too far shows that authoritarianism isn't the only way.
I mean shite, look at Virginia.
Our electorate has shown that it's still flexible and not nearly as polarized and rigid as the polar zealots want everyone to believe.

I suppose not, but it does require a "conservative" movement that's willing to exercise some form of power.

Its a race to the bottom. We're slowing it, but the left wants a true democracy, and I'm not living under one.

Sure. Wielding power isn’t always authoritarianism either.

I believe once this era of polarity subsides (as they almost always do), rational and reasonable beliefs (both of policy and procedure) will start to dominate the pollical process again.
What exactly is rationale and reasonable about abortion at 9 months or cutting a child’s dick off so you can virtue signal to your friends that you are an ally?
People like you who act like you are above the fray and the really “reasonable” ones are the worst. You have no passion and simply critique from the sidelines while you observe. You fiddle and smirk while Rome burns and then complain when men with real will give you a safe place to live out your miserable existence.

Let him live under his progressivism. I'm smart enough to run from it.

Do you really want people like SFP advocating for you? Why would you want him on your "side?"
I want strong individualists, not collectivists. Let him go.
