Agreed, sir. Conservatism isn’t passive like most of these people seem to believe. But it is principled.

My wife and I were in an argument about something a few weeks back I said this is the correct and moral answer and here’s where I find that in the Bible. I’m not going to to condone or be ok with somebody’s actions just because of feelings.
She said I was being a rigid a-hole. I said I’m completely fine with that. Call me an a-hole but I’m not going to exchange facts over somebody’s feelings because it makes them feel better.
Calll me racist, a-hole fascist, whatever. I’m not changing right for wrong because of name calling.

This is just a fascism. An intensely stupid article.

Put bluntly, if conservatives want to save the country they are going to have to get used to the idea of wielding power, not despising it.
Gotta be careful saying stuff like this. You know how leftists call everything fascism? Statements like this legitimately push you closer to the F-word.

Fascism is a response to overreaching progressivism. Just admit you like the overreaching progressivism.

Seeking to expand your power to push your world view via government isn't really "Constitutionalist" in the typical etymology of the word.

Only people who are stuck in polar thinking see it as a binary option

its reactionary, and its as stupid as progressivism.
Progressives and Trumpites are just two sides of the same coin. They just carve different winners and losers.
Populism is a cancer, left or right. Its a race to the bottom to placate losers. You people are falling into the trap they set for you.

Historically, it absolutely isn't.

Ah yes, the only options are being a progressive or being a fascist. That false dichotomy is actually instructive with respect to how the fascists came to power in Germany.

Their philosophy comes from Locke and our constitution. Liberty and property. They are wishing for a world where the government will leave them and their property alone and let them be. It's fantasy. The left has never deigned to just let people be. They will always find a new egalitarian impulse that requires them to keep fricking with you. They aren't going to leave you alone.
Then explain to me why your authoritarianism is less scary than their authoritarianism.
Now that the veil is off and people in this thread aren't being coy about wanting authoritarianism, sell me on you side, because the scariest authoritarians I've ever personally experienced were Religious/conservative ones.

Sounds like convos I've had in every relationship I've ever had. I'm the "nicest ahole they've ever known," was a regular compliment. Females have a love/hate relationship with a man that knows when to be stern. Ie the hate how much they love it.

Dont let nomenclature interfere....conservatives are good.

At this point, you don’t really need a new name for our movement when it’s simply good versus evil. You don’t need to rebrand to gather support when you are against killing a baby at 8-9 months or mutilating a child by cutting off their genitalia or the state telling you cannot meet in public or go to church due to “public health.” The people we oppose are just plain evil. If we can’t win the current culture war as bad as it is now, we will never win. The next stop on this bus is total authoritarianism.

Germany was Nazi dictatorship. Italy was Fascist. They both arose out of unrest and were rooted in a bit of populism and racism (especially on Germany’s side) but equating them because they were on the same side of WWII is being a tad lazy.
I’m not condoning either. Both bad.
To say Italian Fascism and Nazi Germany just popped up in a vacuum without some illiberal precursors that lead to those movements is lunacy.

I’m not saying I want authoritarians on my side, I’m simply saying the right’s slide to it didn’t happen in a vacuum. One is not better than another.
