It’s the “mobs” part that’s the difference I’d say. They have many many more literal mobs. Even murderous ones.

Explain to me how this right-populism/Christian nationalism/fascism is any different.
I’m not sure what Christian Nationalism is, but you think that’s the threat in Oct 2022?

Did you read this thread?
This thread is about creating a label for an authoritarian shift from traditional conservatism. "Christian nationalism' was mentioned more than once for that label.
The OP and this thread is literally a discussion about right-authoritarianism.

This is literally that path, just a matter of when the train stops. You give a government power to "correct" things and I don't see it giving up that power.

I mean...
But even ignoring Jan 6 (and no, I'm not saying that one mob-riot is the equal of 2020's summer of riots), this thread is a call to become that mob and embrace that idea

A purely astroturfed term. Have you swallowed that?

It was literally suggested as the label sought in OP, in this thread (and not by me)

And you’re posting about Jan. 6th?
Christ, man, what’s happened to you?

In response to a person saying the people who caused a riot on Jan 6 aren't the people who cause riots? Yes, it's applicable.
I even added a disclaimer to avoid a whataboutist response

We simply diverge in opinion as to what constitutes “mob rule”. I perceive it as meaning/requiring more than one instance, i.e. a pattern of efforts to enforce ongoing expectation of following the “rules”. As you mentioned, J6 = single instance which can technically be considered an anomaly. On the other hand the many many instances on the other side, in one case even literally resulting in a “breakaway republic” aka chaz or chad. Again, JMO.

You ignored the other part of my post.
The literal point of OP is to do just this. It's the whole end game of populism.

Well I responded to your post, not OP’s.
And so what’s the other premise again thaob rule is the whole end game of populism? Look, I’m not claiming TD,d level expertise in populism, and I suspect that much like all other commonly tossed around terms (conservative, liberal, libertarian, etc etc) that pretty much everyone has their own opinion or definition of what is, but I’m not for the violence or “mob rule” if we are indeed somewhat equating the two, I believe there are other completely feasible ways to get there.

I agree.
OP does not.

Populism is supposed to be for the common man, which we kind of are. On the right, it manifests as protectionist policy and anti elitism.
There's been a left turn by the right wing populist on economics.

's been a long time since I paid any attention to baseball, but it used to be that the AL had the DH rule and the NL didn't. Purists don't like it, and I tend to agree to the extent that I care, which is little. In any event, the NL stayed "pure" and didn't adopt the DH.
Notice now that the NL will have the DH soon if they don’t already, because nobody cared enough to push back

People did push back. For decades.
The market doesn't want pitchers hitting and baseball is entertainment beholden to the market.
Things evolve over time. That's life.

I absolutely agree. But I loathe the mob, and don't want to be them.
Populism is collectivism and populist movements tend to morph over time. If you hitch your wagon the the mob, just be sure you move in step with them, or you might find yourself the source of their angts.
