I’d do nothing but laugh at the left, except that every idea they have ends up with the government forcibly taking money from me for my entire working and retirement life.
That’s not some high minded psychological thing. The government actually takes money from me to fund every one of the left’s ideas, and have plans to take more, and that makes me angry.

Author's thesis is that everyone has traits about themselves that they constantly fight an interpersonal battle against. Such as jealousy, bigotry, laziness, etc. And we project the traits we hate about ourselves on the "other" group over there.

He'd have you believe that hatred for LGBTQ issues is due to some latent homosexual frustration...or a deep but unrecognizable fear of Global Warming makes you more willing to project hatred on those crying for regulations... or that you see some of the Clinton's in yourself and that's why you want them dead.
