I can't speak to what you personally went through in the 9th ward. I am sure it was incredibly traumatic. But it is patently unfair to characterize President Bush as someone who did not care about those affected. He made a lot of mistakes as POTUS. But he is not an uncaring person despite the lies that have been said about him.

The people around W failed him most. You trust that your FEMA director knows what they are doing, but what happened was Brownie completely underestimated the events on the ground including the logistical nightmare that transpired.

The result was about the worse optics the President could of possibly imagined. To top it off, W was saying, "Brownie your doing a heckava job". If Bush was on top of it and fired his FEMA Director when things went sideways then W would of been critized but not as bad and what ended up happening was he looked incompetent.

And, I agree with you that W is a good man that genuinely cares about people. I just believe he trusted too much on those around him.

Im sure my personal experiences are tied to my feelings on bush in regards to katrina. I wont deny that.

I was trying to compliment trump though. It doesnt come naturally for me.

Some of us libtards will be surprised to see Trump saying "probably there's never been anything as expensive in our country's history".

Or should he get a pass for forgetting about that >$1 Trillion war (2017 dollars) that he dodged with phony bone spurs?
You could have at least used Hurricane Katrina, instead of doing exactly that the OP is accusing people with your War and bone spurs comment.

During His presidency he really did genuinely care about people. In 2006 I had a buddy killed in Iraq, his remains were going to be delayed getting home because Bush was going to be in the area and had airspace shut down. My buddies dad called their congressman and word got back to Bush what was going on. He wasn't having any of that. He personally escorted my buddy on AF1 and had the Secret Service escort him to his parents for the funeral, also wrote them a hand written condolence letter.

Trump didn't tour any damage or meet with any victims. It was a photo-opp visit.

Which is fine, not criticizing.

Obama was MIA but I guess since he's the fricking great black hope it's ok for him to be out on Martha's Vineyard while Baton Rouge drowns.

I thought he visited BR right after the floods?

And who cares anyway, it's a meaningless distraction IMV.

Katrina was an all hands on deck clusterfrick...politicians at every level and the citizens. Katrina was just ugly all around.
