I still don't think those are comparable. I don't think he should have lost his job either

eta: I'm not defending Cohwerd. I couldn't care less what he has to say

To the media, Southern rednecks are fair game.

Why not? Saying that all blacks are fast and strong isn't comparable to saying all southerners have an eye for an eye mentality? They are both incorrect generalizations.

I thought you said the statement was that blacks were "bred" to be faster and stronger.

and an eye for an eye culture does exist in the south. I'm from Texas, it's huge here. Every single person? no. but an obvious culture? I think so. and there's nothing wrong with that. I can't fathom why anyone would be offended by that

If Cowherd understood the Bible he would know that Stewart would have to have been killed by Ward for it to be an "eye for an eye"

Doubtful. My reason for posting the OP is not because I'm offended by Cowheard because I don't listen to him or care what he says. The point is that some things which are less egregious than what he said has gotten personalities in much hot water. Why the selective outrage?

ORLY? I knew TD has gravitas but I never knew a mere mention on here would generate income for a substandard sports reporter.

I meant by giving him more attention, which is essentially what he gets paid for, you are helping him more than hurting him with this thread.

Look up some of the stuff Colin said about Sean Taylor after his murder. Waaaay worse than this weak "eye for an eye" stuff and nothing happened to him then. Colin makes alot of money for ESPN and at the end of the day that is what matters.

Like I said, it certainly doesn't hurt, does it?

Kind of like ppl on the MSB starting threads about something outrageous Skip Bayless said that morning. At the end, he wins.

I don't want anything to happen to him just like I didn't want anything to happen to that Miami Dolphins player for tweeting that seeing Michael Sam's kiss his partner made him uneasy. Yet he was fined and given sensitivity training. I think everyone should be less sensitive to words and opinions of others.

His comment doesn't even make sense, Stewart wrecked Ward, how is it an eye for an eye if he runs over him afterwards??

I agree.

And I know you started this thread to illustrate what you see as hypocritical, but it only adds to the back and forth. JMO.
