I would say the problem is different.
People refuse to learn certain things because doing so is considered “acting white” and single out anyone they see who isn’t trying to fit in with those standards.

The political right tries to expand opportunities, which leads to wildly divergent outcomes. The left objects to that divergence and fixes it by dragging everyone down to one low standard.
